Trey Alexander vs Terquavion Smith… who you got?

This vs battle I actually had armchairgm in mind from one of his big boards. His was the first big board that had these 2 prospects in the same draft range with Alexander having the slight edge on that board if I remember correctly… So anyways, armchairgm, if you’re out there this one’s for you…

This “vs” battle actually happened in real life in the tournament.
Terquavion Smith’s my pick, he did outplay Trey Alexander, even though it was Alexander’s team that won… But I can see the case for both. Alexander’s frame isn’t as scrawny and he’s a little younger…

I’d probably pass on Terquavion Smith’ in the 3rd round. He’s a bad shot taker, he’s too f***** small (Luka Voice), can’t defend. He’s creative and quick but he misses all his shots and can’t play off the ball. I don’t see him having a role in the NBA unless theres a team tanking. He probably ends up an inefficient G League player. Another player imo that currently provides more bad then good. He’s like 5 years away from being a reliable role player.

Look at Bones Hyland, the Nuggets tried him out for a bit but eventually gave up on his streaky shooting and went with consistent veterans they could rely on.

I don’t think either is going to stick but I would take Terq, who projects to be worse-shooting Bones Hyland with a better attitude. Trey doesn’t really have enough self-creation juice to play on ball and he doesn’t really have the size to be that useful of a defender, position-locked shooting guards are dime a dozen.

I see both as late first rounders/early 2nd rounders if the picks in late first rounders were still with contending teams I don’t think either would go in the first round. But I personally have Trey ahead on my mock list.
