Jarace Walker VS Cam Whitmore

This is a tough one for me here. They both have some upside imo. In a vacuum, I’m rollin’ with Jarace Walker. I feel like you can plug him in about any lineup. Cam Whitmore would be my choice if this were before the college season. Walker though brings defense every game to every situation. Not sure how Cam translates exactly. Imo he’s a smaller Zion with better long range shooting. I don’t even know what that looks like in the league. Jarace to me is similar to Pascal Siakam and Draymond Green. Either way I think they’ll both be good players on the next level, but Jarace has a safer floor. Anybody else have thoughts on this VS battle?

I think they are completely different players in terms of NBA role Walker I see as a PF and Whitmore as a SG/SF. I rather have Whitemore he has potential to be an All Star snd go to scorer.

interesting. I see Whitmore more of a 3/4 than a 2/3.

In todays NBA he could play the 2-4. I have Whitmore as a Jerry Stackhouse type player and Jarace Walker as John Collins type player and those are two different molds.

I prefer Jarace slightly more. He has better defensive potential IMO and could potentially play from 3 to 5 in modern NBA line ups. Whitmore may have more potential but I feel Jarace is a slightly safer pick at the moment.

I’ll go with Whitmore. I question Walker’s fluidity and agility for the next level. I’m not particularly high on either. What made you start with these two?

I wanted a feel for both of them and have them both drafted in the same range. I have gone wishy washy on both of them. Whitmore is trending in the right direction, however I don’t see him guarding Anthony Edwards or Jalen Green. I see him playing bully ball though. As for Jarace, he’s been about the most consistent freshman defensively. His offense has been a little limited due to his role on a contender. But his HS tape is just as good as Cam’s. Jarace is probably the prospect that I’ve seen this year that had the best luck defensively against Brandon Miller too.

I’m high on both and would pick them for any team after Vic, Scoot, the twins and Miller. Jarace projects as an OG Anunoby type with a bit more on ball upside (OG has low key been one of the worst p’n’r initiators in the league). Cam has Jimmy Butler upside with good instincts off ball and the ability to overpower a lot of the smaller wings in the league. His game will shine better in the NBA where he is much more likely to play with a real point guard and play in transition, Nova has been a mess this year. For most teams I’d go with Cam, but a team that has a lot of creation already that accidentally slips to the lottery should go Jarace.

This is a no brainer for me. I’ve been high on Cam Whitmore since preseason and is producing at a college level. I can see him as a 3-4 athletic wing similar to that of Miles Bridges but with higher ceiling. Jarace may be a safer pick but he seems to me more like Kevon Looney with a jumper.
