who you got out of these 2 prospects?On one hand TJD can defend and is a more defensively versatile player with very good athleticism.
On the other hand, Tristan Vukcevic has developed great shooting range and a complete arsenal of offensive moves ala Domantas Sabonis. Thoughts on who you’d take if your the GM? Or who you like more as a prospect? They’re both in the same range on my big board. TJD has been ranked higher by the consensus all year.For me I’m going Vukcevic. He has impressed all year. I feel if he played in the Big 10 or something against TJD, he would have averaged some serious numbers and be ranked higher. I’ve felt like that almost all year long. Then he solidified what I thought at the combine. They’re both 4/5s. It’s really who has the better need for a team. TJD at times would be the better fit which could be either way. The difference for me between the 2 is that I believe Vukcevic would improve his defense as he improved his game. It may not be at TJD level defense, but respectable. Seems to me that TJD has been working on that shooting the last 3 years. He might be closer to what he is.

OhCanada-ParticipantThe question with Vukcevic is does he have enough of an allaround game to stay on the floor. At 19 playing in Serbia the awnser was no. He’s an elite shooter, maybe even the best shooter in this draft and he moves well for his size. But even in that combine game he was making tons of mistakes defensively specifically early when the game was competitive and frustrating his teammates with his lack of communication. He’s a major project right now with an elite skill.
TJD is underrated. Been saying this for a couple years now. Elite athlete, smart player, very strong, underrated passer. I think if you turn him into a playmaker instead of a primary scoring option he averages a ton more assists. I don’t know if his shooting is ever going to come along but if what you see is what you get then at the very least your getting a NBA ready big man that is an elite roll threat and a very crafty finisher in the paint. He really improved as a defender this year as well although I don’t see him being an absolute stopper he was in college this year at the NBA level.
I pick Trayce.

sweaterflexParticipantI’d go TJD, he showed a lot last season as an offensive hub even as he had a bit of the ‘man among boys’ effect as a senior. The athleticism also popped more than expected at the combine, he might have a little bit of Bam-ish potential. I have a hard time seeing Vukcevic defending anyone at the NBA level but maybe he’ll have a Bertans moment and get overpaid one day.

zolaParticipantI’m a fan of Partizan and watched live Tristan few times this year. He is nowhere near to play in NBA right now. He needs to work on fundamentals.
TJD reminds me a lot of Brandon Clark. Stronger, but less quick.

HitsterParticipantTJD is clearly more NBA ready and the better defender but Vukcevic has more upside and looks the better shooter. I haven’t seen that much of Vukcevic but I could see a team like the Spurs taking him with 32nd pick and leaving him abroad.
If I’m going on upside I take Vukcevic bit if I’m looking for a guy to be in rotation then TJD would be the choice.

HitsterParticipantInteresting call Oh Canada, so much depends where a player lands as to what game time he gets as All Rookie teams are pretty much stat based and we can probably assume some spaces will be locked down if guys stay sound.
