Marcus Sasser vs Isaiah Wong

Who’s the better prospect, Marcus Sasser or Isaiah Wong? Remember this exercise is who you got? Not who you think will go first. Sasser being on what was regarded as the best team in the nation for quite a bit of the season was the engine that made Houston go. When he was fully healthy Houston was a team to beat. Isaiah Wong on the other hand was on a very good Miami team that beat Houston in the tournament. Wong personally torched Houston. Was that luck? Was it because Sasser wasn’t fully healthy? Or is the ACC POY just the better prospect and player? He’s younger by a few months and will probably measure similar.

Give me Isaiah Wong here. I hold these prospects in about the same tier. If I want defense I’d take a liking to Marcus Sasser slightly. But in a vacuum I’d take Isaiah Wong because imo he’s not a liability on defense and can run an offense a little better than Sasser. Anyways who you all got?

Both guys I think will go early to mid second round. Only a few months age difference and Wong a couple of inches taller. Both have pretty similar scoring percentages and look to have excellent 3 point ranges. A lot could depend on which team they land on and what playing opportunities they get.

I’ve got Sasser ahead of Wong on my initial mock so I’ll go with Sasser out of the choice of the two as I think he has slightly more NBA potential with his offence.

Wong strikes me as a ‘4A’ type, future G League all star who can’t create well enough to justify iffy defense. Sasser should be a reasonable third guard who could become a lower tier starter in the Terry Rozier mold if he proves he can defend NBA shooting guards.
