Who you guys got on this one? Leonard Miller or GG Jackson?
Leonard Miller was the youngest prospect to enter the draft last year before pulling out as his name fell on draft boards from being completely lost at the combine. This year is a different story. He improved his game maybe more than any other prospect in this class. He has some play making skills, and proved he can rebound and defend being a really good disruptor against fair professional competition. He could be that gadget man that you can plug and play from the beginning. I can see him being mentioned for an All – defensive team or something someday.
GG Jackson is the youngest prospect this year. He reclassified to the 2023 draft class despite being ranked at the top of 2024 to get his name out there early. He’s got a good iso game and has some defensive tools up his sleeve himself. On a lemon in South Carolina he averaged some solid numbers. He could have played more efficient, perhaps but showed glimpses of how he has some maybe All-Star potential. I can see a world where he becomes a bust too. I believe in the kid, however.
Give me GG by a sliver here. I think in the marathon of a career GG gets the edge and I’m betting some team gets a lot out of him from coaching…

HitsterParticipantI would have had Leonard in my first round if he had declared last year and with an extra year under his belt I think he’ll go inside the top 20. I have him as my last lottery pick at the moment that could be a bit high but I like the kid.
GG I have always felt was a slightly better prospect than Leonard at their relative ages and I still feel he is. Maybe he is greater risk and greater upside but I have him going inside the top 10 and as the 3rd best frontcourter this year after Wemby and Hendricks.
I like what Norrin says about LEonard him being an excellent role player/glue guy who a play off team could easily slot into a successful line up to take minutes from day one and give them solid production on rookie scale salary. So there will be no shortage of suitors for him on draft night if he gets down to that 17 to 20 range which I feel is his draft downside.
GG is inconsistent but has great athleticism and will be an excellent rebounder from day 1, he’ll need some coaching to improve his all round game but at only 18 years old he can have a bit of time. Going in later lottery will be better for thim than if he was a hyped top 6 pick who a lot is expected of from day 1.

sweaterflexParticipantI have to go Miller on this one, but I think I’m lower than most on Jackson. GG did not score efficiently inside the arc despite theoretically being one of the best athletes on the floor, did not score well from behind the arc, and did not make free throws to a degree indicating he is likely to shoot much better in the future. He had more than three times as many turnovers as assists and did not rebound well (despite the ‘athleticism’). He didn’t make a ton of plays as a weak-side shot blocker or play the passing lanes. He has reasonable dribbling skills as an NBA 4, but that’s about it. A lot of G-League time awaits GG.
I would have taken Miller in the first last year and I still have him there this year. He can be a rim runner in well spaced offenses or a reasonable spot up threat with time. He has good length and will likely play all three frontcourt positions at various times.
