NBA Comparison: Kendrick Nunn

Strengths: Shooter! High volume and decent accuracy long range bomber, with some good explosiveness sprinkled in … Does a little bit of everything (but is a plus from 3p range) and picks spots carefully as the primarily ball handler … Grew as a playmaker this past season compared to previous years where he was mostly a “microwave” type scorer … Has a good, strong body and is a nice mix of smooth and explosive … Can be a crafty ballhandler … Good mid range game, ability to stop on a dime and pull up with efficiency  … Was slowly but surely given increasing amounts of responsibility at Baylor each progressive year and he was able to accept gracefully … Was a key member of the 2021 Baylor NCAA National Championship team (6th man spark plug off the bench type) … The following season assumed a starting role and became the team’s leading scorer … a 40% career 3p shooter, and 80% career FT shooter (showing strong ability to knock them down) …

Weaknesses: Has decent, but not elite shake as the primary ballhandler … Was asked mostly to get his own shot and is still developing as a playmaker (getting shots for teammates). .. Seems to catch the ball slightly off balance on outside shooting, sometimes slowing his release … Really developed as a playmaker (but still has more development to do for the NBA lead guard position) … As a fifth year senior, one of the older players in the draft (turned 23 in December) … Shows willingness on defense but must keep developing there … Will he be asked to spot up from three, or will he be in a position / able to develop scoring from mid-range or a floater in the lane?

Overall: Flagler can light it up, especially from deep. He is seen as a bit undersized as a combo guard. He has been putting in the work to develop as a lead guard. And he has a highly valuable skill — 3p shooting ability. Questions remain about his ability to compete size-wise and if he can either play-make or shot make at a high enough level to warrant a roster spot. For this reason he will likely be a second round pick … Overall, offensively, shares a fair bit of style with Jrue Holiday.

Notes: Measured: 6′ 1” barefoot, 8′ 1” standing reach, 191.8 lbs, 6′ 4.5” wingspan and a 36 inch maximum vertical at the 2023 NBA Draft Combine … Fifth-year senior (redshirted 2019-20 season after playing freshman year at Presbyterian College) … Baylor’s all-time NCAA Tournament scoring leader (135 points) … Unanimous All-Big 12 First Team (Coaches), AP All-Big 12… Made multiple three-pointers in 87 career games, making 3+ in 55 games; 4+ in 28 games; 5+ in 14 games; 6+ in 6 games; 7+ in 2 games … Has a brother, Duvaughn, who played football at Gardner-Webb… Scored in the top 1/3 of participants at the combine in the 3/4 court sprint and lane agility drills… Measured a fairly average 36″ Max / 31″ standing vertical jump …
