NBA Comparison: Jaime Jaquez/Sean Elliott

Strengths: Versatile 3-and-D wing with good size … Fairly good athlete … Has sneaky athleticism … Solid leaper off one or two feet … Great built, has an NBA body despite his young age … High basketball I.Q, he mostly makes the right decision … His versatility on both ends of the floor intrigues, he could play 2-4… Has 3-level scorer potential … Good finisher at the rim … Has very good shooting mechanics, either from stand still or in Pull Ups … Size helps him shoot above his opponent … Good shooter in Spot Up and Catch and shoot actions, he is a floor spacer … Has improved in off screen actions, he could add this to his arsenal soon … Has shown potential as a shooter in Pull Ups, especially after has taken a ball screen … Can attack closeouts with ease and go all the way to the basket … He could become a rare case of a wing who can play the Pick and Roll either as the ball handler or the screener … Solid as a secondary ball handler … .Has shown glimpses as the ball handler in Pick and Roll actions, can make solid reads … A threat in Pick and Pop actions as the screener … Smart cutter, can make 45 cuts or, come from the baseline and score… Has nice footwork, feels comfortable doing advanced moves when he has stopped dribbling … Solid rebounder for a wing … Has nice lateral quickness … Can be a physical defender when he has to … Projected to be a Multi Positional defender, he could guard 1-4 in the future … Size helps him on defense … Has active hands … Jumps to passing lanes and makes steals …

Weaknesses: Not an elite athlete by NBA standards… Has just OK length (wingspan is reported to be 6-9, may be closer to 6-11)… Has a solid, but not elite, first step … Foot speed isn’t great, but decent … Has some ups and downs, even in the same game … He could be more physical on both ends of the floor… Kind of a streaky shooter for now, he should be more consistent … Ball handling still needs work if he wants to play in the perimeter full time … He mostly has shown glimpses in ISO actions in youth level, but this hasn’t translated yet at senior level, maybe because he wasn’t asked to do it much … Playmaking and decision making still need some work … Surprisingly for his profile, he is just good (not great) in transition … Can be a little careless with the ball at times… Doesn’t have enough reps yet as the ball handler in Pick and Roll actions to consider him a consistent threat … Has some problems against physical defenders,  who put pressure on him in the perimeter … He should add a Post Up game to his arsenal to be able to punish potential miss-matches … Has some mental lapses on defense and loses focus … Has the physical tools to become an elite defender, but he is still not there yet … Takes some gambles on defense when he gives help, leaving his player open … Has been asked to guard power forwards but he still – understandably due to age – lacks strength to do it full time in the Post and his opponents have found ways to score on him …

Overall: Pacome Dadiet is the prototypical 3-and-D player, but with the potential to become a lot more … A wing with great size, a solid shooter in Spot Up actions, who has shown glimpses as a secondary creator and a multi positional defender … With that said, he still has ways to go as a shooter, ball handler and defender, since he lacks consistency in all those areas … Dadiet’s ceiling is as high as anyone’s in this year’s class and if he finds a way to maximize his potential, he could become a really interesting player in the future …
