NBA Comparison: Jermaine O’Neal / Chris Bosh

Strengths: Wilson is a long and lean 6’10 215 lb forward with excellent dimensions and physical tools for a primary PF, including a 7’ wingspan and a wiry frame that is gradually filling out … Outstanding athletic ability; runs the floor like a deer, has excellent body control & fluidity for his size, and is an explosive leaper who gets off the floor in a hurry in both his 1st and 2nd jumps … Also has top-notch quickness and routinely poses a problem for frontcourt players with his sudden 1st step … Aforementioned athleticism and his extension around the rim made him a remarkable and emphatic finisher as a Fr. who was pacing the nation in dunks at the time of his hand injury (66 dunks in 24 games played, 61 FG% inside the arc) … Plays with passion and energy that amplifies his physical ability and allows him to get the most out of his tools … A real factor on the offensive glass; effort and nose for the ball are both pluses in his game and he gets more than his fair share of putback opportunities (2.8 ORPG) … Has nice hands and can make catches and snag the ball away from his body with ease while on the move (9.4 RPG) … A mismatch waiting to happen; budding versatility as an offensive talent who can convert over smaller frontcourt players and use his short-area quickness and ball skills to give bigger/slower players fits … More physical than his wiry frame would suggest; is willing to battle for position and draw foul calls in the paint, at times even converting through contact (7.5 FTA/G) … Comfortable facing up and handling the ball, particularly in the mid-range area, with some quick crossovers to get space and threaten the defense with pull-up Js or as a slasher (19.8 PPG) … Developing his shooting range, but has decent touch and is already a threat to hit short rhythm jumpers and some shots off the bounce from the 15-18 ft range as well … Shows signs of a smooth fadeaway jumper that’s hard to contest with his high shot release … Good shot selection; willing to take what the defense gives him (58 FG% on 12.3 FGA/G) … A willing passer who can have some offense run through him as a playmaking valve; unselfish and has promising vision and passing accuracy for his position (2.7 APG) … Effective hi-lo passer when paired with a big man…Nice timing when hitting cutters and also does a good job securing boards and throwing hit-ahead passes after missed shots … Also quite comfortable handling the ball in the open court, with the ability to initiate transition offense … Takes pride in being an asset on defense; as good a profile as any prospect in this years draft class on that end of the court … Instinctive and covers ground extremely well as a rangy and agile mover in the frontcourt who can both switch most matchups & pressure the ball on the perimeter and help erase mistakes around the paint as a help defender with his timing, length and quick leaping ability … Currently leads UNC in steals and blocks as a Fr (1.4 BPG, 1.5 SPG)…Can play minutes as a smal ball C, especially as he gets stronger … Good basketball IQ and feel for the game; has a good idea of when to play off of teammates and when to be assertive and take over games … Moves without the ball and can locate openings to get behind the defense when the floor is unbalanced; doesn’t always need plays run for him to score … Played a good amount of high profile games and matchups, and routinely came up big in those spots this season… Has answered the whispers about his wavering intensity as a HS player by being consistently aggressive offensively as a Fr (scored in double figures in all 24 appearances this season)

Weaknesses: Wilson is continuing to get stronger, but filling out his thin 215 lb frame will help him even more when dealing with the physicality of NBA frontcourt players for a full 82 game season … A PF who will need to keep strengthening his body in order to fulfill the idea of him effectively playing small ball C for more than short spurts at the NBA level … At times shies away from contact or is pushed off his pivot when looking to establish low post positioning, demonstrating still-developing lower body strength … Adequate threat in the mid-range, but his accuracy and comfort shooting from 3 needs work (26 3FG%, 7 made 3s in 24 games) … Has some touch and shot-making ability, and his 71 FT% on high volume is OK groundwork, but he would present an even bigger mismatch if he can extend his range to at least be a threat from distance with his feet set … Occasionally dribbles too high and gets the ball poked away when handling outside the paint … Has possessions were he’ll run into walls and pick up his dribble too quickly and put himself in danger of committing a turnover (2 TOPG) … Will sometimes settle and take long 2s due to seemingly being more comfortable shooting off the dribble than when stationary … Still developing a more polished scoring package; can get points in a number of ways and even in bunches at times when facing up, but his consistency as a scorer away from the basket could determine just how high his offensive upside can be … Sometimes gets beat off the bounce on the perimeter by being too upright in his defensive stance and will rely on his athleticism and length to get him back in plays, which often worked in college but could be taken advantage of against savvy pro guards who know how to draw fouls or set up teammates for looks while he’s out of position …

Overall: Wilson has been a blue chip prospect out of the Atlanta area since he was in the 10th grade, playing on the Georgia Stars AAU team and being one of the best players in the state as far back as 2023 … His name grew and his game continued to blossom, especially when he teamed up with the Boozer twins in 2024 on the Nike AAU circuit, and later won 2025 Georgia Mr. Basketball and was selected to the 2025 McDonalds All-American game … Despite being a consensus 5-star recruit, he has spoken about how some of the other more ballyhooed names in his 2025 recruiting class were getting more hype than him, particularly in the McDonalds game, and how he used that as motivation to put the basketball world on notice … And that he did. Wilson’s 2025-2026 season has seen his stock ascend from a late lottery pick to a projected top 5 pick, thanks to a highly impressive and productive Fr. season were he has managed to exceed already lofty expectations as he leads UNC in points, rebounds, steals and blocks for the Tar Heels … He has given fans rim-rattling dunks, emphatic shot rejections and some truly outstanding performances in bright-light games and matchups all season (ie 23 points in a win against archrival Duke and Cam Boozer, 24 points 7 boards and 4 assists in a win against Kansas and Darryn Peterson) … Unfortunately he’s nursing a broken hand that’s taken him out of action since 2/10, but he’s fighting to get back on the court as of writing, possibly by the end of UNC’s regular season to help the team push to March Madness … As an NBA prospect, Wilson’s physical profile as a sleek 6’10 PF with length, outstanding athleticism, and versatility on both ends of the court give him the upside of a true game-changer on the frontcourt … He has a developing triple threat reportoire with the ball in his hands, flashes of point-forward-like skills, and is dunking machine and transition terror unlike the college game has seen since Zion Williamson was running the floor at Cameron Indoor just minutes away from where Wilson plays currently … He’s still developing, but if he’s this good of a two-way player already in his career there’s no question why his draft stock is as high as it currently is in a draft class that has been highly thought of for years at this point … Look for Wilson to be a top 5 pick in this draft, with him consistently being thought to have a range as high as the 2nd overall pick depending on how the lottery shakes out …

Notes: Caleb Wilson measured 6′9.25” barefoot, 210.8 lbs, with a 7′0.25” wingspan and 9′0.00” standing reach at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine, posting a 34.5-inch standing vertical and 39.5-inch max vertical … Previously measured 6′8” barefoot, 198 lbs, with a 6′11.0” wingspan at the 2023 Nike Elite 100 … 2025–26 Stats: 24 GP, 31.3 MPG, 19.8 PPG, 9.4 RPG, 2.7 APG, 1.4 BPG, 1.5 SPG, 57.8% FG, 25.9% 3PT, 71.3% FT … Named Second Team All-American, First Team All-ACC, and ACC All-Rookie Team in 2025–26 … Became the first UNC freshman since Tyler Hansbrough (2006) to earn at least Second Team All-America honors … Missed the final nine games of the season due to hand injuries … Former Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year and McDonald’s All-American … Played for Holy Innocents Episcopal School (Atlanta, GA) and Team Thad/Team Nightrydas on the EYBL circuit … Born July 18, 2006, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Strengths: 6’9 talented forward … Good size and length for position … Mobile and very well-coordinated. Covers a lot of ground with his strides. Natural athlete and finishes above the rim with ease. Good body control … Shooting range extends to the 3PT line and has a good release point on shot combined with his size. Shows a midrange fadeaway that’s difficult for the defense to contest … Improved ball-handler and slashes well to the rim … Can score off the ball, reading cut opportunities as well as on the finishing end in transition … Has done a good job of recognizing mismatches, knowing when to post and finding easier opportunities to score as his high school career progressed … Draws fouls at a good rate. Shot 5.2 free throws per game over the Nike EYBL in 2023 … Sees the floor and passes well, knows how to thread the needle, showing good instincts in the high post and in other half-court situations. His ability to see a play ahead of time at his size is tough to match. Pinpoints bounce passes and knows where his cutting teammates are. Leads well in transition and throws impressive outlet passes. Averaged 3.1 assists to 2.4 turnovers per game over the Nike EYBL in 2023 … Good rebounder. Averaged 8.3 rebounds per game over the Nike EYBL and 7.3 (1.3 offensive) rebounds per game at the NBPA Top 100 in 2023 … Has a knack for getting clean swipes on the ball and pokes the ball loose from guards. Good shot blocker and timing as a help defender. Averaged 1.8 blocks per game over the Nike EYBL in 2023 … Averaged 1.4 steals per game over the Nike EYBL and 1 steal per game at the NBPA Top 100 in 2023 … Naturally gifted and impacts the game in multiple areas …

Weaknesses: Strong frame and has done a good job adding strength over his senior year but can continue to fill out and can be stronger with the ball, playing off balance at times… Has potential as an inside-out scoring threat but settles for outside shots and can look to improve 3PT shooting consistency. Can push the ball on his shot and look to smooth out his release, coming out flat at times. Shot 17.5% 3PT% on 3.4 3PT attempts per game over the Nike EYBL in 2023 … Can improve as a free throw shooter. Shot 67.4% FT% over the Nike EYBL in 2023 … His handle can get loose when picking up speed … Can expand his post-game … Has gotten more assertive but still tends to blend in at times … Can pick up the intensity on both ends. Has gotten scored on at times just from his man simply playing harder than him. Can be too reliant on using hands defensively, getting beat defending quicker players when getting switched on the perimeter. Despite reputation as a versatile defender, he lacks a low center of gravity combined with stiff hips, showing discomfort when changing direction and defending the perimeter at times …

Outlook: Incoming North Carolina freshman … Played in the 2023 Underclassman All-American Game … Played in the 2023 UA Next Elite 24 … 2025 McDonald’s All-American … Scored 28 points (13-14 FG) in the 2025 Jordan Brand Classic … 2025 Naismith All-American 2nd Team … 2025 Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year …

Weaknesses: Strong frame but can continue to fill out and can be stronger with the ball. Can utilize his size mismatch more often, scoring with finesse rather than overpowering physically inferior opponents … Can improve scoring efficiency and look to find easier ways to score. Averaged 14.8 points per game on 38.7% FG% over the Nike EYBL in 2023 … Settles for outside shots often and can look to improve 3PT shooting consistency. His handle can get loose when picking up speed … Can expand his post-game … Even when he’s the best player on the floor, he doesn’t present himself as an alpha. Tends to blend in more often than he should … Can pick up the intensity on both ends. Has gotten scored on at times just from his man simply playing harder than him. Gets beat somewhat often defending quicker players when getting switched on the perimeter. Lacks a low center of gravity combined with stiff hips, showing discomfort when changing direction and defending the perimeter at times … Great tools and talent but has a way to go to put it all together …

Outlook: Played in the 2023 Underclassman All-American Game … Played in the 2023 UA Next Elite 24 …
