davisAnthony Davis 6-10 222 PF Kentucky Fr.The Hornets have received some interesting trade proposals for their top overall pick, but for a new ownership group, landing the draft’s big fish, Anthony Davis, gives them a face of the franchise to market for the future. Davis may not have a huge impact in year one, but should be a contributor and has a lot of upside for the future.

drummondAndre Drummond 6-11 279 PF/C UConn Fr.While I don’t consider Drummond to be a good fit for Charlotte, he does have the most franchise changing potential of anyone outside of Davis. We’re projecting him to go second, but look for another team to make a deal for this pick targeting Drummond. If they keep the pick, T-Rob or Barnes makes more sense. The player Kemba Walker is endorsing surprisingly is not Drummond, but MKG, as the two are close friends.

t-robThomas Robinson 6-9 244 SF/PF Kansas Jr.The Wizards will likely select whomever is left over between Drummond and Robinson. Both players interviewed very well and both should offer a nice addition to their frontcourt to accompany their young PG John Wall. Robinson has more heart than anyone and one thing a prospective team knows is that he will give everything he has. MKG is also a real possibility here.
NBA Comparison: Patrick Patterson

barnesHarrison Barnes 6-8 228 SF UNC So.Look for this pick to come down to Barnes or Beal as the two were scheduled to face each other in a workout, reminiscent of last year when the team had Tristan Thompson face Derrick Williams. Barnes no-step vertical jump of 38 inches dispelled some of the notions about his lack of athleticism as it was more than 80% of the players with a step. Barnes impressed teams in interviews with his intelligence, but he received some negative reviews from teammates according to contacts. Regardless, scouts like him just fine and it’s unlikely that he will fall much further than the 4th or 5th pick.

mkgMichael Kidd-Gilchrist 6-7 233 SF Kentucky Fr.MKG is the ultimate winner and team player. His intangibles and leadership are off the charts. He could go as high as 2 with Charlotte and Washington could also grab him at 3. The Kings would likely be doing backflips to get him at 5 as his character/leadership is exactly what this team needs.

youngDamian Lillard 6-3 189 PG Weber St. Jr.The Blazers could use an upgrade at the point guard position and are said to be very high on Lillard. Ray Felton does not appear to be the long term answer for them. Lillard has an extremely intriguing package of shooting, point guard skills, speed and desire. Portland has also been mentioned as a team that could potentially use their picks to move up from a player they covet (Drummond or MKG).

bealBradley Beal 6-4 202 SG Florida Fr.The Warriors are most in need of a SF, but with new GM Bob Myers in the fold they are likely to look for the player with the most value. Which means that if both MKG and Barnes are gone, they will be forced to look at other positions. They are happy with Klay Thompson at the 2 position but if Beal is available here, he may be difficult for them to pass up. Thompson could always be shifted to the SF position.

lambJeremy Lamb 6-5 179 SG/SF UConn So.Word is that Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo is extremely high on Jeremy Lamb. Lamb has received a lot of criticism after a somewhat disappointing season in which he didn’t evolve into the Huskies leader. He lacks assertiveness but has a quiet confidence about him, and it’s easy to forget how integral he was to the Huskies Championship a year ago. Lamb tweeted that he turned his ankle during the Raptors workout, adding speculation that he will be the pick at 8.
NBA Comparison: Reggie Miller

leonardMeyers Leonard 7-1 250 C Illinois So.Leonard had a breakout year and shows tremendous potential as a mobile, athletic big man. He’s not as NBA ready as Tyler Zeller, but his upside warrants being selected before the Tar Heel bigman. Leonard is getting excellent reviews from scouts and would be a nice compliment to the highly skilled but less athletic Greg Monroe.
NBA Comparison: Robin Lopez

riversAustin Rivers 6-5 203 PG/SG Duke Fr.Rivers measured well in Chicago at a legit 6’5 in shoes. While he isn’t a natural PG, his basketball pedigree and focus makes him an intriguing late lottery selection. As an explosive scorer he would be a nice addition for New Orleans along with shot blocking extraordinare Davis.
NBA Comparison OJ Mayo

rossTerrence Ross 6-7 197 SG Washington So.The Blazers opt for local talent (Ross is from Portland) to add to their early selection of Lillard. Ross is a talent, his prototypical size and ISO ability gives him a legitimate chance to be the top SG prospect from this year’s draft class.
NBA Comparison: Eddie Jones

zellerTyler Zeller 7-0 247 PF/C North Carolina Sr.After trading away Andrew Bogut for Monta Ellis, the Bucks could use a young, polished center like Zeller who should come in and contribute right away. Scouts are nearly unanimous in their admiration for the Tar Heel’s work ethic and character and believe he is worthy of a late lottery selection, despite a lack of perceived upside.

rossDion Waiters 6-4 221 SG Syracuse So.Reports have surfaced on CBS that Waiters promise is with Phoenix. He would give the Suns’ backcourt some added scoring punch. Waiters is undersized but is a player scouts are high on due to his ability to create offense and be a go to scorer.

sullingerJared Sullinger 6-9 268 PF Ohio St. So.The Rockets are sitting pretty with selections 14 and 16, which both figure to be excellent value in this draft. They will have to make a slight consideration of who Philadelphia is looking at in order to get both players they most covet. Sullinger has fallen from being a projected top 5 pick last year as well as coming into the season. His conditioning and health are concerns but he’s a polished bigman with an ornery demeanor.
NBA Comparison: Carlos Boozer
15.sacmoultrieArnett Moultrie 6-11 233 PF Miss St. Jr.Moultrie put up tremendous athleticism numbers in the combine, which comes as no surprise to those that scouted him extensively during the season. He spent the first 12 years of his life in New York City and teams came away impressed with his interviews. We’ve contended all along that he has lottery talent and he’s another prospect adding great depth to this year’s draft class.

jenkinsMarquis Teague 6-2 180 PG Kentucky Fr.We’re hearing that Houston is very high on Teague and there’s a good chance that unless someone they really love falls to their second pick, they will use it to select the Kentucky floor general. While Teague received a lot of criticism during the season, he finished strong and is a handful to stay in front of due to his blinding quick first step. He would offer insurance in case a team loads up and woos Goran Dragic away from Houston in free agency.

jonesTerrence Jones 6-9 252 SF/PF Kentucky So.Terrence Jones is a talent but according to scouts he’s on the decline on draft boards. He will be a match up problem due to his face up skills but could also struggle to fit a position. Dallas, just a year removed from an NBA title had a perfect top 20 protection on their pick and should add a quality young player to their nucleus.
NBA Comparison: Marvin Williams

hensonJohn Henson 6-10 216 PF UNC Jr.While Henson remains a possibility at 11 to Detroit and would make an excellent pairing with Monroe, scouts insist he is moving down boards and could end up in the late teens on draft night. His lack of physical strength is a concern for teams, despite his phenomenal length with a 9’3 standing reach (3 inches greater than Anthony Davis).
NBA Comparison: Samuel Dalenbert

marshallKendall Marshall 6-4 198 PG North Carolina So.Marshall surprised everyone with a 37 inch vertical at the combine. He could end up going higher, but it seems that the league is saturated with quality young point guards at the moment, and many teams are not in need. Orlando still has a quality PG in Jameer Nelson, but he could be entering the twilight of his prime.

NBA Comparison: James Posey

jonesPerry Jones 6-11 234 SF/PF Baylor So.21 seems way too low for a player with top 5 talent, but the fact is teams are very concerned with Jones assertiveness and ability to realize his potential. One scout mentioned to me that Perry’s self esteem is one of the lowest he has seen. A great kid, Jones could just need a coach that knows how to work with him and Boston could be the ideal place for him playing with one of the league’s elite PGs in Rajon Rondo.

ross Royce White 6-8 261 SF/PF Iowa St. So.White could ultimately slide on draft night due to his well documented anxiety disorder, but his intrigue should be enough to force a team to roll the dice on him. With a second pick at 24, Cleveland has the luxury to swing and miss and could reap the benefits of a player some feel has top 10 talent. White recently turned down a workout with Memphis, adding speculation that he has a promise before 25.

lambDoron Lamb 6-4 199 SG Kentucky So.Memphis has some uncertainty with their SG position with Mayo’s future with the team in doubt. Doron Lamb struggled some with his side to side athleticism in Chicago but remains one of the draft’s top shooters. Playing at Kentucky makes it a little more difficult to evaluate him, and if he slips to the end of the first or into the second round, he’s one of the draft’s sleepers.

cunninghamJared Cunningham 6-5 188 SG Oregon St. Jr.Cunningham is a player on the rise after measuring a legit 6’5 in shoes in Chicago at the predraft camp. He has been getting a lot of mentions in the first round lately, after a solid showing working out with the PGs at the combine. He’s an elite level athlete with improving skills. Cunningham’s jumpshot, while not great, shows potential: he shot 34% from 3 as a junior. Adding intrigue to his game is the fact that some feel he has the versatility to play both guard positions.

  1. draft

Interesting picks in second half of round. Im suprised teague has anyone interested….and I think you guys hugely overvalue Moultre….and I have a feeling Royce White goes higher…the anxiety issues seems to have been mostly put to bed. I think Middleton wont make the first round…not ahead of barton and Kevin Murphy and Orlando Johnson. Id be surprised….AND no draymond green? No Ezeli ? no Plumlee? I think O Quinn too might go late first. Size always seems to win out for GMs when they have to pull the trigger.

  2. @ stepp

I too was surprised when I saw no Ezeli, but unfortunately, I don’t think many GMs will bite at Green, Plumlee, or O’Quinn in the first round.  I do think that if any of those players go undrafted, than several GMs should probably start looking for work elsewhere.  However, while I agree that size matters in this league, team needs are just as important.  Heat need an off the bench shooter not named Mike Miller.  OKC needs to find Durant a solid back-up so that he can actually rest on the bench instead of worrying if he’ll have to go back in the game after 30 seconds.  Bulls need a shooter who isn’t injured every 10-15 minutes like Rip Hamilton.  And Golden State can’t pick the likes of O’Quinn or Green because they would overlap with Lee or (depending on the 7th overall pick by the Warriors) Thompson, or Beal, or whoever they pick.

  3. I like Royce White,but i also

I like Royce White, but i also fear he could be like Marcus Fizer,Randy White and Chris Morris..All 3 guys looked like men playing against boys in college..And it appeared that they could be special at the next level..But all 3 stumbled and couldnt find their niche..

  4. Hope it goes down like this.
I like Bradley and PJ3 running to the hoop while Rondo is pushing the brake. Rondo needs more atheletes and he will get that with PJ3.

  5. Sorry but no way PJ3 drops

Sorry but no way PJ3 drops that far and I feel if Evan Fournier can come over next season, a team in the late first round (Bulls?) should definitely take him. I would also not be surprised if the Spurs trade for a late first round pick to pick him up.

  6. whtie

I agree to some degree with rudeboy…..white is an enigma and Id worry about exactly what his position is going to be. He was a man among boys but wont be able to do some of those things at the NBA level. That said, man he’s a good passer. I agree too about team needs..@NJBrown…..be interesting to see what the Heat do. Draymond Green is a name Ive heard a few pundits toss out there and that makes sense. I think Plumlee is going to be the big surprise and go in the 20s first round. I also think Barton sneaks in to the first for sure.  I keep hearing OKC, Memphis and GS want to trade their picks, or extra picks. If thats so….who might pick them up besides Brooklyn? And i still say Jeff Taylor is the steal of this draft.

  7. TONY WROTEN

Tony Wroten had the 2nd fastest time in nba combine history with a 3.0 only second to his cousin nate robinson . Just thought people may like to know that since this site failed to post the correct result and at 6’6 may be pound for pound the fastest , most savy gaurd in recent memory . Also Tony is a far more superior gaurd than kendall or lillard period . Kendall was in sports illustrated as a 6th grader and still chose to hold his self back to seem better than his new class . So for a guy who was supposed to be a college junior ya he had a nice iq and mature game . Tony just turned 19 in april and yes he is sometimes sparatic but has a pottential that is unmatched in this draft . Lillard would never workout against tony because he would be destroyed for a job .Tonys aggression is sometimes looked upon as brash but people please dont buy into the hype . Tony is one of the most solid 19 yr old kids you could meet . He has alot to work on Yes !! but that is all that is stated in attemp to downplay this kid . He is a top 5 prospect with what he has right now though ! I will also include some obvious video to prove Tony is a phenom that none of the draft sites have posted to show instead of write to add validity to this message http://youtu.be/HooPPwJTU3Y?hd=1

Leadership ??? At 18 Tony scored 30 on duke in madison square !! there is no way to down play that !while leaders T.ross and Gaddy admited the bright lights of the garden and duke had them a little nervous (understandable) but there was an 18 yr old kid who was fearless . Imagine going to a war and your sargent hesitates and gets people killed while the 18 yr old kid from rotc who was just along for the ride , leads your troops to near victory …come on generals i mean gms who are you gonna take to lead your next war ??? Romar made a mistake by not giving Tony full rein (I commend Romars Loyalty to his returners so very understandable ) but Tony led the pack 12 in scoring with not a single play called for him . was never even told to post up much much smaller gaurds .shoot lol that was taboo . was specifically told not to shoot ..repeadedly !i saw tony score 50 points in pro am all jumpers two months before . he scored 42 in all star game and was mvp for the 2nd yr and you know the talent of seattle nba guys http://youtu.be/4-EEuWjC0j0?hd=1

Put lillard or kendall at uw under the same scrutiny they would not be record breakers or on espn top plays twice in same month and to be real those guys at 18 wouldnt even have seen the floor people . Put Tony at north carolina or kentucky and there would be no doubt he is a giant magician , he showed you his superboy vision at the jordan game . growing up Kendall was never even better than abdul gaddy but he developed . Check statistics and i gaurantee that Tony is the same age or even younger than some of your top rated highschool seniors especially prep and post grad !! His bad attituide lol Michael Jordan specifically used to tell players at north carolina that they should be honered to be in his presence let alone play basketball with him . MJ talked more sh*t than mayweather as a 18 19 20 yr old kid but now you get to see that weaties , hanes smile . people grow up or atleast refine themselves as will Tony ! As strong minded as you are, when mass media says you cant shoot or make free throws it will play with your mental!!The sickening part of these reviews is that he can actually shoot !! ive seen Tony hit 11 , 12 3s in one game several times growing up …when that wise gm says heres a few million dollars and your dream come true because we believe in you watch how that brown thing starts dropping in that round thing ! he is a lefty and it is in his blood , his aunt joyce walker – lsu hall of fame , one of the first ladys to play for harlem globetrotters and one of the purest shooters in history knows when he finds it he will never loose it . heres a tip for trainers and coaches , when he leaves it up there and his fingers point towards rim he is automatic …TRUST . At the fiba games many scouts said undoubtedly he was the number 1 pro prospect and though many people second guess there selves to be popular …THAT HAS NOT CHANGED . Ask peyton siva of louiville how much of a great team mate tony was and the leadership he had even as a 14 yr old playing up with them , the puzzle that is tony wroten is not hard to put together , in this same yr Tony at 14 droped 38 on the prestigeous boo williams when kendall at 17 was a non factor ? http://youtu.be/YVhduTLzM30 I have seen tony interact with his friends and family for yrs and if tony had 10 dollars he would keep maybe a quarter and give away the 9.75 this is no exageration and something gms should know about his character . you got kids in stolen houses , taking money ,in gang brawls and complete head cases going lottery but you label tony wroten as a bad apple lol as tough as this kid is has he even been suspended for a fight . media is a very powerful tool but im not buying into that Tony is not the top point . As much as critics want Tony to stop half *ssing his game , Stop half *ss reporting . here are some more videos and ya higlights can make anyone look great but if he wasnt great there wouldnt be numerous consistant highlights to make . ps L.O.E is a group of childhood friends that all play college sports and aiming to get degrees in business and communications .

  8. comparing Marquis Teague to

comparing Marquis Teague to his brother is lazy, he’s not as strong as explosive as Jeff, he’s a little quicker and more crafty. I would compare him to Mike Conley.

  9. Mock

I just can’t see, for one, the Rockets passing on the 2nd-best PG in the draft in Marshall to take Teague, when they already have Lowry. What the Rockets need is two big men. Sullinger is a great pick for them, and I think I could see trading down to a team, such as, pehaps, (and this is probably lost hope) the Lakers. Perhaps the Rockets could trade the rights to the 16th pick (Marshall), their 2nd-rounder, and perhaps Marcus Morris, for Gasol and possibly a Lakers second-rounder this year. Look at it this way-Marshall is the ONLY player not going in the top 15 who could be a franchise player, and the Lakers need a PG. Bynum is, I have to say, better than Gasol. Morris won’t be able to help the Rockets with Sullinger already on board, so he could perhaps start from Day 1 this year, if need be. Another option is the Rockets trade the pick for a later pick in Round 1 (O’Quinn maybe?) and get a 2 or 3 in return. And I also don’t see anyone going up to No. 2 to draft Drummond. He’ll slide to 5 or 6. I see Robinson fitting in well with the Bobcats, possibly a franchise player. They’re in need of size. Beal and Wall will easily be an amazing young backcourt for years to come. And Kidd-Gilcrist will definitely help Cleveland rebuild, becuase I believe Tristan Thompson was a reach. And, of course, the Kidd just rocks. 5 is probably the place to try to get Drummond, as Lillard will fit better in Portland. But, of course, if Lillard goes No. 5, Portland could still take Drummond.

  11. Cleveland’s 24th Pick

I think it is highly unlikely that Royce White is the Cavs pick at 24 as they worked extremely hard the last few years to acquire draft assets. Doron Lamb is much more likely because although his upside might not be quite as great, you know what you are going to get out of him. He would be the Cavs SG replacement for Daniel Gibson who is unlikely to be on the team. That would leave them with 0 SGs on the roster. Ezeli or Plumlee would a pick in the second round as they do not really have depth at the 4/5 positions.
