NBA Comparison: Devean George

Strengths: A potential sleeper lurking in the Southern Conference … Talented small forward playing in relative obscurity at Furman … Long arms and solid leaping ability give him intriguing physical attributes … Makes some high flying plays around the rim … His biggest asset is his all around athleticism and potential … Shows decent potential as a scorer … Solid jump shooter, particularly off the catch and shoot. Squares to the basket, gets good lift and shows solid form with good follow through … Also shows some range knocking down 40-110 3p as a junior (36%) … Plays with a good pace … Gives solid effort defensively. Long arms allow him to disrupt opponents and give him an edge on the boards (7.2 rpg) … Free throw shooting has shown improvement (54% to 70%) …

Weaknesses: Needs to gain experience against a higher level of competition … Unproven, it’s difficult to impress scouts and gain recognition playing at smaller schools such as Furman where the competition level is not as great … Shot selection needs to show improvement. Tends to force shots with defenders crowding him … Must work at freeing himself and recognizing when shots are being contested … Ball handling shows some promise but remains a work in progress. Needs to get lower on his dribble … Passing also needs work. Too careless with his passing … Release on his shot is a little slow, allowing defenders to collapse on him … Doesn’t get ahead of himself or try to force things too much, but could be a little more aggressive attacking the basket … Needs to work on consistency. He should be putting up 15-20 points on a nightly basis instead of a high number of off games (9 single digit games) …

Notes: A 22 year old senior who averaged 15 ppg last season …
