Alright pretend GM’s. Dont have to answer all the questions. But lets play a fun game.
The draft lottery has been set. (standings were set by ESPN projected BPI, and ESPN’s 2016 mock lottery machine)
    1.) BOS
    2.) PHI
    3.) PHX
    4.) DAL
    5.) PHI
    6.) NOP
    7.) MIN
    8.) MIA
    9.) SAC
    10.) WAS
    11.) ORL
    12.) DEN
    13.) IND
    14.) ATL

1.) You’re the Boston Celtics GM. You win the first overall pick, and your roster is the same currently, aside from free agents of the ’17 class. Who are you taking? Or are you calling up the Kings and asking for Cousins? Are you on the phone with Larry Bird trying to see if he’d deal Paul George?

2.) You’re the Philadelphia 76ers GM., you have picks #2 and #5. Brett Brown has said publicly that he plans on running Simmons at PG. Does that your draft strategy? Lets say, for the questions sake you guys pick Josh Jackson at #2. The rest goes as follows.

    BOS – Fultz
    PHI – Jackson
    PHX – Ball
    DAL – D. Smith
    PHI –

Do you pick up another wing in Tatum? How about an athletic shooter in Monk? Or a efficient faceup four man in Markkanen? Or is it someone else? You make the pick.

3.) You’re the Washington Wizards GM. Things didnt go as well as you guys hoped for this season, and Brooklyn is ringing up your line trying to get the #11 pick in exchange for Brook Lopez. Rumblings are that Wall is unhappy, do you make this trade or keep the pick?

4.) You’re the Minnesota Timberwolves. You have the #7 OVR draft pick. Masai and Toronto are trying to move in the lottery on draft night to select Harry Giles. The wolves obviously need veteran talent, so the Raptors offer Demarre Carroll, Norman Powell, Lucas Nogueira and there #25th Overall pick for Nikola Pekovic, Brandon Rush, and the #7 overall pick. Do you bite if your the wolves?

The draft has gone like this:

    BOS – Fultz
    PHI – Jackson
    PHX – Ball
    DAL – D. Smith
    PHI – Monk
    NOP – Tatum
    MIN –

     1) Trade or healthy Harry Giles. I would probably take a despration move from Philly to get Fultz like 5, Okafor and Saric (the best I can get), then pick best fit at 5, probably Adebayo or best shooter available(Monk? Ferguson?Tatum if he extends his range?).

2)In that scenario, the sixers are in the 2015 situation with Fultz out . I think I try to trade both picks (including Jackson)+Jahlil Okafor for a better fit, even with Simmons PG, like McCollum or Bradley Beal rather than try to draft him. With such high picks +Jah, it’s possible to either keep a pick or get another valuable asset probably. If I have to pick, I think I take french Ntilikina as a 6th man.

3)Keep the pick. Obvious. Teams issues are not only at the 5, Gortat is probably among the team’s bests.

4)Bite. But Giles seems a good fit in NOP. They will probably resign Jrue in the summer and they need someone who is not Asik inside.

If I were Minnesota in that case, I’d be seeking a great defensive player to set the tone.

If unable to acquire a near-prime veteran defensive player via trade with the pick, I’d take either Jonathan Isaac or Harry Giles, give him a couple years to develop, and allow him to become a valuable asset or a boost to my depth.

Option #1 for me as GM would be on the phone to Indiana, considering they missed the play-offs (according to this) coming up on PG-13’s contract year. I’m offering Pick, Brown, Rozier and salary to match contract. Thomas, Bradley, George, FA (Rebounding/defensive guy), Horford with Smart, Crowder, Olynyk on the bench.

Option #2 if Indiana say no maybe move down a little and go for Giles or Isaac and try get some veteran presence as well.

For the sake of moving forward I’m running with Indiana saying yes!

IND – Fultz (Let Teague walk, very tempted by Ball here as well)
PHI – Smith (Can score with or without the ball so could fit nicely with Simmons and adds shooting
PHX – Jackson (Nice wing combo of he and Booker)
DAL – Ball (Would love this pick for Dallas)
PHI – Monk (He could be a fantastic 6th man and with Smith, Henderson, Simmons, Saric, Embiid that would be one heck of a young core)

Do you pick up another wing in Tatum? How about an athletic shooter in Monk? Or a efficient faceup four man in Markkanen? Or is it someone else? You make the pick.

If I am Washington, I may be getting desperate, but this is a lot for Brook Lopez given the depth of the draft, I would ask for the Boston pick as well to get a little more talent in the roster, if Brooklyn agree than I do it to try keep Wall around.

4.) You’re the Minnesota Timberwolves. You have the #7 OVR draft pick. Masai and Toronto are trying to move in the lottery on draft night to select Harry Giles. Yes! I believe that Minnesota would benefit massively from a defensive minded wing and this trade gives them 2 in Powell and Carroll. Not too mention they get Pekovic off the books and turn that money into somthing more productive.
Rubio, Wiggins, Carroll, Dieng, KAT with Lavine, Powell, Dunn, Nogueira, Bjelica has potential as well as winning ability.

The draft has gone like this:

    1.)BOS – Fultz
    2.)PHI – Smith
    3.)PHX – Jackson
    4.)DAL – Ball
    5.)PHI – Monk
    6.)NOP – Tatum
    7.)TOR – Giles
    8.) MIA – Isaac
    9.) SAC – Fox
    10.) WAS – Rabb
    11.) ORL – Bridges
    12.) DEN – Anunoby
    13.) IND – Leaf
    14.) ATL – Makkanen

1.) BOS – Fultz. He’s a stud, IT4 can have one more year as a starter, before going back to 6MOY duty.
2.) PHI – Jackson. They need wing depth. Can also pick up one of the 15 awesome PG’s later in the draft.
3.) PHX – They need to draft BPA. Booker, Bender could be the future, maybe a PG to set them up, like Lonzo Ball.
4.) DAL – Lauri Markkanen. Dirk’s getting old.
5.) PHI – Dennis Smith Jr. Finally a PG!!!
6.) NOP – Any talent to put along side Davis. Probably a guy like Isaac
7.) MIN – Giles if they keep Rubio, Ntilikina if they trade Rubio.
8.) MIA – They need scoring. Monk
9.) SAC – Tatum looks good here to replace Rudy Gay. Shame his will fall into the “Sacramento screwed my career” category

     1. If I am Danny Ainge, I would likely keep this pick. Both Jackson and Fultz have star potenial and the C’s will get one of them. I would definitely not give up the pick for Cousins. I do not see him as a good fit in Boston and his emotional issues would scare me off. Paul George would be tempting if Indiana is willing to deal. However, I would only be willing to include one more major asset in the deal (Brown, Smart, or a future first rounder that is not the Nets 2018 pick). Assuming I keep the pick (I doubt Indiana deals Paul Georgia), I would take Fultz. I think he is the best player in the draft and with the first pick that is who you should take regardless of position.

    2. This would partially depend on how Simmons does at the point. If he struggles, it makes sense to draft a point guard, in which case I take Fox here (I would be hoping Ball falls to me, but that didn’t happen). If Simmons shows he can handle the point, I would take Isaac here. He is the best player on the board and I think can play the 3. You would then have a lineup of:

    C Embiid

    PF Saric

    SF Isaac

    SG Jackson

    PG Simmons

That looks pretty good to me.

    3. If I am Washingon, I pull the trigger on that trade. I want to keep Wall happy and winning cures all. Lopez will help more now, plus the person taken at ten will likely only be a role player at their peak. You have the player you want to build around (Wall), so you need pieces that help you win now.

    4. I think there is a better deal out there, so I say no. Even if there is not, the group of players does not move the needle enough for me to trade the pick Dumping Pekovic’s salary is nice, but you can probably dump it for cheaper than the 7th pick.
