I would just like to get everyones thoughts on a rumor that the Bulls have Noah on the trading block.  Do you guys think he gets traded this season?  If so, to which team?

Knicks would seem to be a logical fit if they could put together a package bulls would take. Noahs passing ability from the high post would be a great fit for the triangle and he would give them a defensive anchor.

Mavs could be interested too if Chandler doesn’t re-sign.

good luck with the Knicks having something to offer for a center who still can bring solid value to any team.

IF the Bulls do trade Noah, the Blazers would be an interesting spot. After losing to the Grizzlies in the playoffs, I think they could use some tweaking. I do like Robin Lopez and I like Meyers Leonard as well. But adding Noah would bring a different dynamic to that team. And the Blazers have some better pieces to offer the Bulls (just not sure how the salaries match up).

     Noah isn’t worth much now.

The guy is just a shadow of himself, and he gets hurt "all the time"… come on, he can only play 25 mpg, good luck getting a late 1st rounder for him, that’s the best i would offer.

I agree with shootingstar that Noah is not as valuable as most people think, he has had injuries and has played far from his All star status a couple of years ago, can’t even finish around the rim.  Bulls will want way more for him than he is actually worth, so unless the Bulls really want to dump and get something for him the Bulls will want to much back making a trade difficult.

I think the Thunder should make a move a Noah. Although he’s not what he used to be, he’s tough as hell, a good defender, and a great passer for a 5. They are already deep as far as bigs go with Adams, McGary, Collison, and Ibaka so they could limit his regular season minutes to keep him healthy. His lack of offense won’t be a huge problem for them as the starting lineup is already filled with elite scorers, and that will only compliment his passing ability more. Also, I’m sure Billy D. and Noah would love a reunion. The Thunder could explore a deal with Kanter and I think the Bulls would be glad to have him for Noah as he’d provide a young scoring center who can stay healthy without losing too much on the boards.

I would trade Marc Gasol, Vince Carter, Nick Calathes, and Jon Leuer to the Bulls for Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, Kirk Hinrich, Doug McDermott, the 22nd pick, and a future 2nd round pick.

Noah needs to stay healthy, but so would Marc Gasol.  Neither guy is that young either.

The Grizz then make Conley the first option, give Z Bo free reign inside and then make Jeff Green the third option.  Courtney Lee would complete our starting unit.  I then like our bench inside with Taj Gibson and hopefully we can resign Kosta Koufos.  On the wings off the bench we would have Tony Allen for defense, Doug McDermott, and Jordan Adams for offense.  Our options at point guard would be Beno Udrih, Kirk Hinrick, and Russ Smith.

In the draft I take Andrew Harrison at 25 as another big guard and then the best big man available at 22.

Do you realise that Gasol is a FA right now and why is everyone going crazy about this Harrison guy???

Don’t say this is a bad idea in general to trade Gasol for Noah but a sign and trade would at least be necessary and when or if Marc Gasol resigns for something around max money this whole thing might get a bit complicated, not to mention that half of the Bulls roster is going to Memphis in your scenario and I doubt that Leuer will make up for the potential loss of Taj.

Beside that I have a lot of respect for Mike Conley but for sure he is not a first option on the offensive end on any team in the league, especially with Marc gone.

Milwaukee would be ideal but after all, it is Chicago’s divisional "rival" to an extent.

I think he would have the most value on a contender.

Not sure if this is enough, but what about trading Joakim Noah and Mike Dunleavy to the Warriors for Andrew Bogut, Shaun Livingston, Brandon Rush, James Michael McAdoo, the 30th pick, and cash?

You still have a solid defensive minded center who can rebound and pass.  Then you get a top shelf big backup point guard who can pass and run the offense.  Rush can give you depth at 2 if he can get healthy.  McAdoo gives you an athlete at forward.  Then take a solid player at 30.

The Bulls then have some solid international flair inside with Bogut, Pau, and Mirotic.  Also add Taj Gibson and McAdoo as athletic, hustle guys.  Resign Jimmy Butler then they are deep on the wing with Tony Snell, Doug McDermott, and the newly acquired Brandon Rush.  They should also look at getting RJ Hunter at 22.  Give them another shooter.  Livingston gives them a backup point guard with size.  He would also allow them to move Rose over to the 2 guard spot.

If they don’t want to trade him to a contender, they can trade him to a younger team than needs some guidance, toughness, and veteran leadership.

I would trade Noah and Mike Dunleavy along with a future 2nd round pick to the T Wolves for Pekovic, Chase Budinger, and 36.

The T Wolves offload Pek’s high-priced, long term deal.  They get Noah to pair with Kevin Garnett to form a veteran, tough, crazy, fossilized bench core.

Pek, of course, can score and board inside.  Budinger gives them a veteran on the wing.  Decent athlete and shooter.

Then they pick up a high quality 2nd round pick at 36 to add some youth.

I think the T Wolves should pick Okafor.  He gives them a low post prodigy who can pass, be a go-to guy, rebound, then take up space on the other side of the ball.  He and Dieng give the T Wolves a twin tower approach inside with Noah and KG off the bench.

Completing the young core are Wiggins, Rubio, LaVine, Shabazz, and Anthony Bennett.  They pick up another young asset with their own pick at 31 and then wait for the extra Bulls second round pick in the future.

They should then trade Kevin Martin to the 76ers for Jason Richardson (sign and trade), 58, and 60.

     XYRYX,

I don’t think Conley is a first option.  I don’t think Marc is one either.

Zach and Mike are enough to be the top 2 options as long as Jeff Green and Courtney Lee are stand out 3rd and 4th options.  Then Noah chips in as the fifth option.

For the Bulls, Marc, Pau, and Mirotic will monopolize the minutes at the 4 and 5 spots.  If you wanted you guys could get a cheap athletic 4 to do some of what Taj Gibson brought to the table — maybe a guy like James Michael McAdoo or the next Ed Davis.

I like Jon Leuer as an ok 4th option.  Decent size, decent athleticism, decent range, and decent rebounding.

You then have a great core for the Bulls: D Rose, Butler, Marc Gasol, and Pau Gasol with Tony Snell as the 5th starter and Mirotic as your 6th man.  Vince Carter and Jon Leuer provide some decent depth to fill out the rotation.  Nick Calathes is a big point guard who can pass, handle the ball, and defend while Aaron Brooks (if the Bulls resign him) can score and shoot off the bench.  All around its a decent bench rotation.

I would love to move Noah but finding a partner is going to be extremely difficult. He might offer more value as an expiring deal than he does on the court moving forward. That is probably a bit extreme but Noah hardly jumped and left the floor this entire season. That isn’t a good sign for a guy who makes a living with hustle and energy. "Heart, Hustle, and Muscle" or is that Taj Gibson? I get my Stacey King catchphrases mixed up he repeats them so much. The amazing thing he was still able to be somewhat productive despite playing bone on bone in one knee.

A trade partner won’t be willing to give up much, and the Bulls cannot afford to bring back big salary long contracts in return.

In all honesty I would like to move both Noah and Taj for both financial and on-court basketball reasons. Taj has become an inefficient black hole on offense. He clearly isn’t pleased with never being a starter, and was a huge fan of Thibs. I heard he clearly made his displeasure known about the decision to fire Thibs during exist interviews. Moving both would make way for Marc to come play with his older brother for a title chase for a few years. Sounds fun right?

I am afraid this dream won’t come true and the Bulls roster will be basically the same with both Noah and Taj on it.

As a Grizz fan we have to rebuild at some point.  Not sure about giving a 30 year old Marc Gasol a max deal.

He is solid all the way around, though.  He is not a rim protector and Z Bo is a better rebounder and inside scorer.  So, other than some long range jumpers, Noah can give us what Marc did (or most of what Marc did): smart plays, some hustle, defense, rebounding, passing, and a competitive spirit.  I really like Taj Gibson as a backup power forward to Zach Randolph.  Doug McDermott would be a good long range shooter at the backup small forward spot for us.

The Noah trade would help the Grizzlies bench while the Bulls would get a better core player for their WIN NOW (or the year after) strategy.

A Griz bench unit of Beno Udrih, Jordan Adams, Tony Allen, Taj Gibson, and Kosta Koufos would be pretty tough to beat.

Something built around Noah and Taj for Pek and Shabazz may be interesting for both teams. Im not sure on salaries but im sure there could be extras thrown in to make it work.

Bulls: Rose, Hinrich, Butler, Muhammad, Dunleavy, McDermott, Gasol, Mirotic, Pekovic

Wolves: Rubio, draft D’Angelo Russell, Wiggins, Taj and Noah, then have Lavine, Martin, Bennett, Dieng
