ilike.panochasParticipantWith all of his immense talent, why has Yi been a bust so far? I know he has had a share of injuries but are there other factors? I havent watched alot of his game since being in the league, is it because hes soft or too tentative because I know it can’t be the lack of talent , he has alot of it. I remember coming into the draft I was one of the few who really liked his game, a 7 footer with athletecism and one on one game that was compariable to Nowitzki.

ghettosermonParticipantYeah he is soft defensively which is his biggest issues. He’s not even that weak he just doesn’t know how to play defense. Offensively he shows no desire to maximize his skills. He always settles with long 2 point shots. I think that he has the athleticism and ballhandling to slash more but he simply refuses to. He’s absolutely wasting his athletic gifts and skill. Offensively he plays like a Darius Songaila. It’s a shame because every now and then he’ll show flashes. Defensively he’ll never be strong but he can be a lot better offensively than he has been. He actually has solid offensive skills and touch he is just unwilling to diversify his offensive repitoire. It’s a shame really.

WizardofOzParticipant^^ I agree. He played great tonight though. Made shots, and played great perimeter D.

ilike.panochasParticipantI just think the guy has so much untapped talent, he could atleast be a Turkoglu type forward. I’d like to see the Wizards try to start him over Blatche, that guy is such a bone headed player and see what Yi and Seraphin has to offer.
