valentineAccording to some (mainly sheltwon) robin was suppossed to step up and be a force this year. I was thought to be crazy when I said he won’t be better than sideshow bob out in clevland but he still has shown he isn’t better. He’s a good hustle player that may suprise you with points from time to time but he’s not a true offensive option
I’m wondering if sheltwon still thinks he’s gonna have a better year and be a better player then brook

sheltwon3ParticipantHoops you are right I did say that and right Robin is inconsistent but Brook had a bad game too so how could you make this post now after that both had terrible games. AlsoI am sure Robin could put up similiar numbers if he was on a team that gave him the ball as much as brook. Brook shot like 3 out of 15 against Howard. Are you saying Robin could not do that. Brook is not even really a Center. He is more a power forward who is not quick enough to be play there. That is why Favors will eventually be the Center and Brook will be the power forward in a few years. Favors would then guard the quicker player.
If I am wrong, I will admit it but don’t act like both players did not have terrible game yesterday.

bkballerParticipantBrook is slow and stinks defensively. Can’t rebound and is awful against real centers. 6 RPG for a 7 footer playing 35 minutes a game is downright pathetic. Not sure if thats something to brag about.

bkballerParticipantAnd i call lopez how i see it, i have watched plenty of nets games and i am not impressed. He is a good shooter, thats about it. Not only does he get frustrated EXTREMELY easily, but he has never rebounded well. If PF Amare gets &$#%#&@! for rebounding and he rebounds better than C lopez why does lopez get a free pass? Hes played with poor rebounding PFs as well so he has no excuse, I think the Nets got outrebounded an NBA record 20 something straight games (not sure about the real number) last season and Lopez doesn’t get the blame for that??? How many times have you seen him go up against the Boguts, Howards, Hibberts and shoot 20% all game inly to hit a couple of lay ups late in the game against back ups to look not so pathetic. He shot 0-13 last night against Howard before getting some pity baskets late.

stanford hoopsThis includes all games not just terrible games. And robin doesn’t get the ball much because he’s not that good of a offensive player.
@bkballer. Hasn’t Amare shown to be just as bad ( if that’s what u wanna call brook) yet he’s a older vet? Wasn’t he supposed to be better than David lee? So far Amare and brook has shown to be bad rebounders for there size. Brook is 7ft which is uncalled for and Amare jumps out the gym and still is a bad rebounder and defender. Also uncalled for.2 bad teams in the tristate area. I’m pretty sure my lake show could beat both teams if they combined the team lol

stanford hoopsLast year the excuse was Amare was there that’s why robin didn’t score much. Now he’s gone and he can’t get easy baskets because teams don’t have to focus on Amare. Robin has one of if not the best passing/set up point guard in the game in Nash and still can’t score more than 6ppg. No more excuses. In this case you were wrong. You can’t be in a better situation then having no other real option down low to compete with and have Nash as you point guard. Warrick doesn’t seem to have a problem scoring mire while playing with Nash

Mr. 19134ParticipantHakim Warris is their best low post option and he’s doing his Amare imitations which I knew he could and just crashing in the lane getting the pass and skying for a mean dunk. Robin could do the same thing but he doesn’t. And Varejao is way better then him right now. I think Robin could become better but he is not that right now. Having said that I would trade Iggy to PHX for Richardson and Lopez.

stanford hoopsLike Barkley and pat Riley said about a player who said they could do something “if he could do it he would be doing it”

McWinningParticipantIve watched a couple Sun games and the reason Lopez is struggling is hes got terrible hands, and when he does get it he goes like a sissy.
remember watchinc Steve Nash give a nice pass, wide open dunk takes a couple dribbles, waits and then gets stuffed.
Thats what the Suns are missing, Amares soft hands, and athletacism, and ability to finish strong, I think Warrick can give some of what Amare gives though and once GHentry gives him big minutes next to Nash theyll be fine.

durantula83ParticipantRobin Lopez is having a rough start. Still I expect him to finish the season with about 10 ppg and 8 rpg in about 25 minutes playing time. He’s better defensively and rebounds better than Brooke.

Mr. 19134ParticipantRobin is a way better rebounder then Brooke and a better defender tho Brook is not a bad defender and is the better shot blocker of the 2.
Whatever the Suns do they need to start Warrick because he is a taylor fit in their system and is a highlight reel waiting to happen playing alongside Steve Nash. I love Warrick on this team and I think he could become their second best player.
Also I think Richardson will get traded and Hedo is a bum.
I use to love Hedo but what happen. He don’t even look like he wants to play basketball anymore. He comes to games like he is still hungover. He has big a huge disapointment thus far. And should not be starting at Power Forward over Warrick if anything you wanna use Hedo’s versatility off the bench because it seems to be the only thigns he is good for is being able to play 4 positions.
Also how good is Goran Dragic? Can he get some love?

sheltwon3ParticipantJ Rich is starting to be their best player so I think he stays. Hedo should get moved though but I don’t know how they will do it.

sheltwon3ParticipantI can’t believe we are accessing how good a player is off of 5 games. Also Amare is with a new team and Brook is with the same team but with better players around him. Another thing is a lot of players get rebounds of the defensive end where the other players run back on D and there is two guys back the big guy that rebounds and the point guard. Amare runs the floor so a lot of times it is just the point guard who rebounds and then runs the break. Felton and Douglas get a lot of rebounds this way. Amare tends to get tough key rebounds in traffic though.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantIf he helps them contend for the 8th seed He stays…And why are we debating Brook over Robin…they were thought to be Offense/Defense…Brook’s the scorer, Robin’s the defender…In a perfect worl they’ll reunite somehow…We keep apart Twins…It makes perfect sense to pair them some way…Maybe the Nets make a crazy move and offer the Suns T Will for Robin Lopez…Favors and the Lopez twins would be a force on the inside…add Murphy for the MLE and that team is set…Outlaw and Damion James make T Will expendible…Williams could play the 2 or 3 in Phoenix with Nash teaching him the in’s and out’s of passing…The Suns have Frye and can sign a Center to Run with Nash-T’Will-Hedo-Warrick-Frye-Childress-Dudley…Sam Dalembert would be a perfect replacement for Robin Lopez as a Veteran FA sign…Nash and Sam have history, It would work…JR is a Big Expiring contract and will hit the FA market…Lopez needs Lopez…Not Lopez Vs. Lopez

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantPhoenix is not in love with Robin Lopez…They covet versatile players like Terrence Williams…People call T Will the next Iguadola ( A guy they would have traded Amare for last year had Amare signed on to play in Philly)…A Lopez for Williams trade makes Sense if Murphy and JR Richardson switch jerseys before they hit Free Agency in the Summer…That trade makes perfect sense…Give Nash an elite athlete like Williams and watch him become the Matrix Reloaded…Lopez is not a fit in Phoenix…Murphy would be a perfect big to trade for…JR provides a steady scoring option at the SG spot…
Line Ups…
Nets.
Harris-Farmer
Richardson-Morrow
Outlaw-D.James
Favors-Humphrey
B.Lopez-R.Lopez
Suns
Nash-Dragic
T.Williams-Childress
Hedo-Hill-Dudley
Murphy-Warrick
Frye-Filler…(do they really run true Centers???)
The Nets and Suns can easliy draft Sg’s and Centers in the Draft…

stanford hoopsActually with robin it’s based off of his two seasons plus his five games. He’s never been a offensive force like his brother and that will more then likely never change. He is a better defender and rebounder though.
And I also used to like hedo starting back to his kings days when he felt he should start over peja( and no he shouldn’t have) I’m not sure what’s happened to him
