cbeckermanParticipantI would. over a thousand career rebounds 600 assists hes the only one to ever do this
4 rebounds nine assists and 6 points off 2-2 shooting against duke
hes 6-6 averaging 6.6 ppg 8.3 rpg and 5.9 assists per game.
would I want a guy whos a high percentage scorer, a great rebounder and a great passer? you bet I would everyone looks at scoring every team needs that glue guy
pretty sad that all the NBA cares about is how much you can score and how athletic you are thats not real basketball
congratulations brian voelkel

mplsrawkusParticipantstop pumping up these average players. nobody cares, those numbers ain’t shit. what about his sorry 0.3 blocks per game or shooting 20% from 3. if you hype this guy you gotta hype up just about every player who starts on any college team. of course the nba cares about scoring and athletic ability. you need scorers to score and you need athletic players to play defence.

cbeckermanParticipantyes only one person in the HISTORY of college basketball has accomplished this and hes just an average player? how was your last shrink exam again and how is it your not in a straightjacket? not every player needs to shoot 3’s or jump out of the gym thats not real team basketball.

mplsrawkusParticipantif its such a team game why do you care about his stats. how many national championships has vermont won…..ZERO!!! Oscar robertson would of had those numbers easy but he wasn’t allowed to play his freshman year and they didn’t start to keep track of assist until his JR year. so i guess since brian watcha ma call it is the only player to put those numbers up he bust be the greatest of all time. and all this time i thought it was MJ. i’m must be crazy.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHe is a jack of all trades and master of none.. He doenst have anything that is nba level.. Not height for his position, ball handing, athleticism, shooting ability, or even his passing ability..
What position is he gonna play? Where does he fit in an offense? Who does he guard?
Im not knocking the guy because he is a good player at this level and he has a nice accomplishment under his belt but i dont see him on an NBA team.. He should have a nice career over seas though..

mplsrawkusParticipantgood point. i’m not nocking the kid, im sure he’s a good player but what the guy that post this topic doesn’t seem to get is that this web sit is about college and highschool players that got talent to play in the NBA in the future.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantIsnt this a site for discussion? I mean the OP makes a good sell and just wanted to talk about his guy. Where he goes wrong is with the put downs and blind bias..
Just bringing up players that a lot of people haven’t heard about is great.
Wanna have healthy discussions? Present your opinion in a respectful way and most people will be just fine with anything.

Memphis MadnessParticipantCan the guy DEFEND? Is he a solid/good athlete? If so, I think he might have a shot. Antonio Anderson from Memphis used to be a great player all around and played lock down defense. Not a GREAT athlete or a great scorer, he nonetheless played some pro ball and even played a game in the NBA. But, he had an eye injury and his playing career is pretty much over.
That’s one example of an all-around guy who kind of made it, BUT he could defend 3 or even four positions (and he ran the offense most of the time, too).
