Just daydreaming, this isn’t based on any rumor I read or anything, but  … if your team wins the lottery, would you consider swapping with Sacramento for picks #8 and #10? Do the Kings have anything they could throw in to make you bite on that deal? Cauley-Stein? Labissiere?

NBA is the only league where you absolutely don’t trade the No. 1 pick. One franchise player is just so much more valuable than a "package" of nice players.

If you believe Fultz is that player, you don’t trade that pick for anything less than an individual player you believe is in the same "franchise changing" tier.

Fultz for WCS, Markennen and Ntilikina (example) — I’d take my chances with Fultz

They should trade the 3rd, the contracts of Mozgov and Deng for Kings 8th and10th.

Hy would any team want to take on 2 of the worst contracts in the NBA?

Boston will only trade 1st for a franchise level player, they didn’t dive in for DMC when he was on the block, so I wonder if Ainge is leaning towards drafting. We always know Ainge plays his cards close to his chest so we’ll have to see what deals might shake out.

Philly would unlikely trade a top pick for two top 10’s given their number of young players, Lakers likewise plus their fans would want a big name top pick.

If pick was say 3rd then more teams may put it into play but Lakers and Celtics would be more likely to be more an established player.

This is the most likely to get a top 8 pick/ the number 1 pick:

Boston gets number 1 and maybe some youngish players they would trade that for a proven player like PG or Jimmy B no doubt. However no to the trade from Kings

Lakers: If they  Keep there pick they aren’t trading it I could see them going all in on Ball or Futlz

76ers  I doubt they do that as they could get the best guard to fill their need..They also just cleared a little of that big man glut they just had..

T-wolves may do Skal( a stretch 4 that could work with Kat),8,10 for the number 1 if they can fill plenty of needs I could see them thinking about it at least..But if Thibs loved a prospect like a Jackson,Futlz or Taytum I could see him Keeping the number 1 pick..

Sun are a maybe…Booker is one of their franchise players and it would soley hinge on do they think Jackson or Ball is the franchise player they could take at number 1…Because if you don’t a trade for  8, 10  and WCS for Tyson chandler another bad deal and number 1 could tempt them

Oralando Keep the pick to take best available need either Taytum or Jackson is who I could see going 1 with them.

Knicks(the wild card lol) No they keep the pick and draft the best available need(everything bar Porzingas)  that fits Triangle. However I could see Phil doing a Skal, 8,10 and maybe Mclemore for the number 1 pick..They would probably take Frank N and Dennis smith..

I think Philadelphia could realistically give their two picks (including the Lakers pick, whether it’s 2017 or 2018) for number 1, even if that loaded draft, which is like 100 times better than two picks 8-10 when most of the usual suspects are gone. And I think some teams like Boston, etc..will refuse even such an offer.

Only way you would get a better deal would probably include Joakim Noah’s contract, and Phil Jackson to be really confident in being able to get a player he really wants at 8 (Ntilikina?), and you would need to be the best offer on the table, so #1 should be off anyway. I can see NY trading you 3&Noah for your 2 picks if they end up 3, that’s about it.

Wiggins was selected then traded for Love. His stock was pretty high too. With Boston looking to win now, I could see them trading the pick and assets for Paul George or Jimmy Butler.

They might as well. For any player in this draft to end up better than Paul George something special would have to happen and would take a few years of development. PG is easily the 2nd best player in the East and I dont even think its close. He would fit in perfect with the offense, the roster compliments him well as does the city with the high expectations and standards in the city.

Looking back and the Wiggins trade Andrew has yet to reach the level of productivity Love reached. Of course Wiggins is still developing and athletically and physically was thought of one of the best prospects of all time and still is. He is still very young and is developing well but his defence has not lived up to its college reputation, his ballhandling is very telegraphed and stiff at times, his shot is inconsistent and he is a below average playmaker. His body hasnt developed much either which is dissapointing.

Given how the Spurs developed Kawhi Leonard, I’ve always wondered what would happen if traded up even further and picked up a top 5 talent like a Markelle Fultz or a Josh Jackson.

    More curiousity than anything else.

To be fair before the draft process Leonard was thought of as a top 5 talent. He just didnt test well athletically which stunned everyone and teams thought he was kind of lazy during draft interviews because of his calm humble nature and lack of emotional range which is actually turning out to be a positive thing, Tim Duncan’esque.

If you are Boston then you trade with Philly if they have 4 and 5.

They don’t need a point guard — could use help on the wings and maybe another big. Get two picks of Monk, Tatum, Isaac, Zach Collins, and Markannen. And, of course, this is only if they aren’t in love with Josh Jackson or if he might be there at 4.

If I am Boston I would also ask for a second round pick and Holmes or Okafor.

If the Lakers get the top pick I think they might trade down to 2 or 3 and draft Lonzo Ball in addition to some other assets (cash, 2nd round picks, rotation players, expiring contract).

If New Orleans ends up at 1 then maybe they try to trade the pick for a couple of picks from Philly (if they get the Lakers pick) and go after some guards/wings: Fox, Monk, Isaac, Tatum, etc. and also try to move Jru Holliday.

Even if I was Boston I do not trade that pick.

This is just my opinion but Fultz is the only potential Super Star in this Draft.

As a Lakers fan I feel like it would be a Disaster if we do Not get the #1 pick b/c  then we lose our 18′ pick & a chance to land either Porter or Ayton.

We came up w/ the #2 pick in Each of the last 2 Drafts – One pick away from featuring a Core of  Karl Anthony Towns & Ben Simmons

There are a LOT of really Good talents in this Draft – unlike 2016 where it was basically the #1 pick & everyone else was Miles behind. I like Ball, I like Jackson, I like Tatum & Isaac & Fox, Ntilikina, Monk, Smith Jr & so on. I believe all have a chance to be really good players in a few years but there is only one player who can be a difference maker right away & that is Markelle Fultz

But if the Lakers keep their 2018 pick that mean they lose 2017 and 2019. Do you think the 2018 draft is that good?

& I feel like we have to get one of them

And that silly win streak against back ups & D-Leaguers just made it even more of a long shot

people thought I was crazy last year when I wanted us to land at #4 or #5 so we lost that pick if we did not get #1

Ben Simmons would have been Perfect in LA

The bottom line is we really desperately need Fultz or Porter or Ayton b/c with the new CBA the drafting team has such control over their drafted stars

There’s just too much money left on the table for top stars to leave in FA anymore. We have Nothing right now. We could be terrible for another 5 years. I’m praying the NBA takes mercy on us & just gives us Fultz so we can get back on our feet.  One super star player changes Everything for a franchise

If Boston win the #1, here’s one for you – trade it to the Nets for the same deal again, except make it the option to switch the next 3 times the Nets get a lottery pick.

The Nets almost have to say yes at this point. At least theyd get Fultz and give fans hope. They are going to bleed money for years without winning, too much money in my opinion. I don’t think they can sit through several more years of this.

Boston has already won the regular season East, has Jaylen Brown and other young talent, their best player is the same position as the projected top picks so why not? Three more future lottery picks.. they could just keep a stranglehold over a division rival for a decade, using them when they need them.
