I know how much philly likes the 1st rounders and all and Id really hate to see the Pistons year go in the tank due to Jennings Achilles….would philly take a 1st and some expiring contracts for mcw?

Van Gundy wants to spread the floor for his big guys. I doubt MCW is his guy. Besides that a mid 1rounder wouldnt be enough.

If MCW had anybig guys to spread the floor in Philly, he’d be worth 2 firsts to SVG. I think it would be good for both teams, but don’t know if a 1st and contracts are going to do it.

I think Hinkie would do that in a heartbeat. He’s all about collecting draft picks and if he could get his hands on potentially the eighth pick I think he’d do it. Doubt if Detroit would though.

I see no reason why they wouldn’t give up mcw for a 1st rounder. Especially with a guy like wroten playing behind him.

Hinkie is supposed to have a draft low trade high mentality, he took MCW with 11th pick and considering MCW won Rookie of the year, I’d guess he’d be looking for a top 6 pick at least.

Philly need to start filling pieces in their starting line up and they have MCW in-situ so the PG position looks sorted so I don’t see Hinkie starting over there.

Also if SVG did try to make the trade then how would he fit in MCW and Jennings when Jennings returns?

I think we can all agree that Hinkie would probably trade MCW for the 1st pick in the first round, and probably wouldn’t trade MCW for the 30th pick; in between those to markers, I’m not sure where exactly Hinkie would put MCW’s value. My guess is that if Hinkie thought Detroit would probably miss the playoffs, he’d strongly consider trading MCW for Detroit’s 1st. Otherwise, he’d probably hold on to MCW.

Wroten is hurt and presumeably out for the season so that hurts a potential deal. It would have to be a completely unprotected pick this year and a future protected pick. For instance I could see Hinkie biting if the 2015 pick is unprotected and the 2017 and beyond pick is protected top 15.

fan, this deal doesn’t interest me. I think MCW is kind of overrated. Not sure he’s worth giving up a top 15 pick in this year’s draft.

Eventually, you have to keep the players that you draft and build a team.

I think MCW is worth a pick in the 5 to 10 range. He’s not worth picks 1-4 and he’s too good for anything lower than 10. Anything after the 10th pick would require a 2nd round pick attached.

I mean if I’m Detroit I’m not interested in the 19 year old they’d have to wait and develop you know what MCW and the rest of your team can and can’t do. To me I’d give KCP AND a 1st for him for these reasons….I’m not sold on KCP ever being a 3 point shooter and if he does it probably won’t be in Detroit. MCW is essentially just as much of a scoring threat as KCP at this point with more size and versatility on both ends. 2 we would be a SF away in my opinion from contending again in the East. They were right on the cusp this year they just needed an upgrade on the wing and possibly help in the paint if they really wanted to get after it. 3, the great part in the concern for Carter-Williams’ development is essentially erased with the restricted contract we would hold over him. Whether you’d feel comfortable making him your PG of the future or maybe consider starting him and Jennings or maybe you want him as a 6th man or maybe he could be used to get multiple assets that fit your needs if Stan feels they’re ready to really really compete you would have all of these options on your lap. Not saying it’s perfect for either team but it would be something worth looking into if I’m SVG.

Wrong. Augistin is playing great roll with him. KCP has lots to learn offensively yet is a beast on D. The teams chemistry has finally turned around and is now exactly where it needs to be. You don’t mess with that.

Jennings was balling I think the pistons hold out until next year they are good on pg.

I have heard hes worth late first round mid lotto and even two first round to a top 6 pick.

It depends on the buyer the league is full of pgs how many teams desperately need a pg?

    lakers
    new York
    ind
    mia
    sac
    hou

most of those team have pgs and need upgrades pg is a deep position.

with tremble ,russel, mudiay the sixers can have a pg slip to the heat pick for sure.

also their a lot of projected second round pgs we can draft as well we also have a 6’6 pg over seas along with wroten.

if the right frachise tier player in the future comes along we can trade mcw because we would have a solid back up pg if we were to draft one it would be very easy to move on from him
remember how harden got Houston players sometimes want out mcw will be a good piece to package.

but as far as this post I think we keep mcw unless its an overpay for him. we cant afford to lose in a trade or break even irather keep mcw and develop his shot so unless we replaced him with a surefire better player or better pg fit we keep him.
