What trades that happened on draft day do you think were bad for me its Charlotte giving up Kobe for Vlade and Milwaukee giving up Dirk for Tractor Traylor even guys that weren’t traded on draft day but later there rookie season like Boston trading Chauncey for whoever they got and Boston trading Joe Johnson

Remember Kobe had refused to play for Charlotte so they pretty much had their hands tied with that one.

Off the top of my head, Rockets trading Richard Jefferson for Eddie Griffin, Roy for Foye, Mayo for Love (A lineup of Flynn/Rubio, Mayo, Brewer, Jefferson, and Center? Wow.) Hmm…LaMarcus for Tyrus Thomas. Plenty more I’m sure.

I gotta agree with you on that one, but what if Kobe on Charlotte led to other good players joining, eh?

kobe never refused to play for charlottle, he aint steve francis. Jerry West just wanted him real bad so they started working on a trade for him asap. My least favorite draft day trade was when my bulls traded aways Lamarcus Aldridge for Tyrus THomas. ANother is when we traded Elton Brand for Tyson Chandler

If Bulls don’t pull the trigger on those trades.
Lineup would’ve been, PG Rose SG Gordon/Salmons (Last Season/This season) SF – Deng PF – Aldrige C – Noah
No more complaining about Low Post Scoring and Young!

If they don’t trade Aldridge they probably don’t end up with Rose MAYBE

but it isn’t like the Bulls had the worse record, they just got real lucky and got the 1st Pick. Really lucky, but who knows, these What If can go on forever

the real kicker about the Charlotte trading Kobe for Vlade was that the Lakers needed to dump Vlade’s salary in order to sign Shaq, so they were looking for any takers to clear cap space. Getting Kobe was a bonus.

Another trade that can be taken into consideration is the Chris Webber for Penny Hardaway trade on draft night. For the first 5-6 years of their careers, Penny was the better player and better fit in Orlando. The fact that GState also gave up 3 first round picks to Orlando as well and then CWebb wanted out almost immediatley is what made it look bad.

As usual the Lakers got the upper hand getting Kobe and Shaq.
Even in the same draft teams passed on Fisher for guys like McCarty, John Wallace of course that was the Knicks.

Scottie Pippen was a draft day trade as well?

i think memphis trade with houston a few years ago was bad. houston gave up rudy gay for shane battier. i know battier is a really good defender, but they could have used rudy’s scoring the last few years and would have made t mac more expendable.
