Its kinda confusing reading the players and teams. Like for Portland you talk about NO and from what I heard portland isn’t looking to trade bayless but sergio rodriguez.

I can explain them if you want?

DeRozan at 5- DeRozan is a young player who Washington can add to the stable. He Wont start but he could develop with Washington and there very young bench

Henderson at 9- Great value actually. Henderson is a man who can guard 3 postions and still give you 12-17 ppg. They need a instant impact.

Hansbrough at 11- I actually heard this pick from ESPN. They like Hansbrough alot and Rod Thorn wants a Bull. Blair’s knees are a concern so Hansbrough moves up

Im still updating it though so some of these guys may move

    Memphis doesn’t really want Thabeet.
OKC already drafted a PG last year.
Sacramento needs a PG, Evans will be a SG in the NBA.
    Philadephia likes Lawson over Maynor.

The 2nd round doesn’t make sense.

    But you’re improving.

Can i get article about Memphis not wanted thabeet?
    I know…OKC will trade Rubio
I think Evans can work as a PG
I didn’t know that…maybe ill swtich them (where is a good fit for Maynor)

    tell me doesnt make sense

Not a huge fan of your 2-5 picks. I just don’t see Rubio going to OKC – he’ll either go at 2 to be traded (or so Memphis can cut off their nose to spite their face apparently), or at 4 to the Kings. I personally think he’ll be there at 4 & 70/30 at this point the Kings take him. Other than that though, and a few players I would have included in the 2nd that you ommitted, it was pretty good.

I like mocks with trades personally. I know it’s hard to guess who does what, but I like seeing what solutions people come up with for certain tricky picks, like pick 2. It doesn’t have to be right, it just has to make some sort of sense & since there likely will be several trades (at least) during the real draft, it just seems right to include them. That’s just my opinion though – I know it’s not that widely shared.

    OKC does…they make risks

    Not bad!

I dont think Tyreke Evans will go that high. I think he is a good player, but this draft is gonna be so unpredictable, its gonna be hard to determine who goes where.

im also hearing that Derozan is high on Washingtons board, i heard he wont drop past 6 to minny.

    Good job though

i like your mock draft, i really think rubio will end up playing for the kings (memphis cannot afford another steve francis case and won’t they aren’t even trying right now) so tyreke slips a little bit more in my mind.
other than that i only dislike thornton to the blazers, i mean sg is the only position it’s impossible for them to add a player because last year rudy fernandez had little pt behind roy, i’m positive they will get a 1 or a 3 with the first pick (if they keep it).
all the other picks are valid and make sense (maybe the kings need something more real than claver in 2-3 years to be competitive now, but he is that good).

I heard Claver is coming over this season for NBA summer games and if he can contribute…he may come over for the upcoming season.

Also, Memphis is high on Evans…maybe a 2 and 27 for 4 and 23 swap?

memphis only makes that trade with the lakers. they are high on evans but they would ask the kings for a young prospect (i think hawes because thompson is untouchable according to the kings).
claver won’t be in the nba for 2 seasons, he just got a new contract (literaly like a week ago or so) and said he was staying in pamesa valencia for the duration of the two seasons he has signed.
a lot of things could change in a year, but i think he will follow rudy fernandez’s mold instead of ricky’s.

Oh thank you. I didn’t know that. I think Hawes and 4th for Rubio is a bad trade because Memphis needs a PF and Hawes is a C.

I like Claver and Sacramento is a great fit. They had success with thier last 2 euro picks (Hedo and Peja) and Claver has the ability of Antawn Jamison. He is a steal at 31 in my opinion

Also, Im making some updates so stay tuned for that.

yes, hawes is a center, but plays like a 4, he shoots well from midrange and he rebounds outside his comfort area well enough, he would be a great fit near gasol who is an inside presence and someone you want posting smaller guys instead of shooting 16 footers (which hawes can do).
sacto is a great fit for claver, i agree there. what i said is that the kings really need help now, not in two years, because let’s be honest just rubio won’t make them a playoff team, they need all the players they can get this year AND next year. Claver is a steal anywhere in the second round because that’s exactly what he wants (a second rounder can negotiate his contract freely while playing overseas).

Yea. But then again think about it…that’s kinda why i dont wanna put Rubio to 4.

If you need help right now, take a impact guy now. I mean I think

Evans, Williams and Claver (my 3 picks for Sacramento) are more likely to impact then Rubio and whoever you take a 31.

I mean…I think Evans can play the 1 in the NBA and why not take him and maybe if you really want insurance, take Rodgiue at 31 (the french PG) instead of giving up a proven quality player for a rook…

of course, if you think evans can have the same impact that rubio could have, it would make no sense to trade up because evans will be there at 4 (he will would be there at 7 if you think about it). I talk under the assumption (reading both westphal and the maloofs) that rubio is the guy they really want because they think it’s the most talented pg availble and he is the guy who will get the most people on their seats at arco. I also said that claver won’t have any impact because he won’t be there this year, and williams is a 2-3 which are the spots where they really don’t need that much help (they have martin, garcia and noccioni logging all the minutes there). i see it more like this: trade hawes (or another non-fundamental piece) plus # 4 for rubio, then pick hansbrough to make up for hawes up front and if calathes is not there at 31, pick a guy that can shoot and defend like jerebko, or a solid player like derrick brown both of whom can contribute this year coming off the bench and not requiring to log a lot of minutes.

Well, I think it would be a mistake to think that. Rubio will have a huge learing curve coming into the League and if he has a terrible season…the fans may not come back..

To me…I updated my draft..i didnt change the comments yet…The best pick at 4 is Jonny Flynn

you think that rubio goes past 4 then ? i can’t see that happening, and from that point everything in the lottery would change dramatically. jonny flynn is good, but #4 is a great reach.

No rubio would go 2nd but i think Sacramento can look at a PG and stay content

    Flynn
    Martin
    Nocioni
    Thompson
    Hawes

    Greene
    Williams
    Udrih

look like a ok team to me.

Thank you. I see Hawes as a solid C. Remember, Vlade wasn’t a 20 ppg scorer and last time I checked this team is a PG way from being a Westpaul team…check this out

    Phenoix Suns under Westpaul

    Kevin Johnson- PG
    Charles Barkley-PF
    Danny Ainge- Shooter

Seattle Supersonics under Westpaul (altough he wasnt sucessful)

    Payton-PG
    Mason-shooter
    Lewis- shooter

    lacked a PF

    Sacramento now

    PG-?
    PF-Thompson
    Shooter-Martin and Nocioni

IM not comparing these players at all and Pirate what do u think of the mock?

they will try to get Hansbrough but if he isn’t available then they will trade the pick or something. But knowing Pritchard he will do something crazy during draft night like the previous years. So it might happen but I don’t think so.

That’s why I’m convinced Portland will move up – what else are they going to do with 5 draft picks? They certainly don’t need to bring in that many rookies. Better to bring in 1 or 2 that have a chance to contribute and/or an overseas player. So unless they trade them for future picks or sell them, moving up at some point seems to be the only move for Portland.

I really don’t think the Kings will stay at 4 just to take Holliday, and I don’t think Evans slides to 9 – but neither is beyond the pale. Pretty good otherwise – you had a few surprises at the end of the 2nd. There are a lot of guys that could be drafted as high as 40 or not be drafted at all & neither result would surprise me. I think at that point, for most teams it’s just going to come down to which guys seem like a good fit, so if there is a solid rationale behind the pick, it’s probably as good as any other.

I like Portland to be targetting Blair at around pick 13, but that is nothing but a straight-up guess. It just makes sense to me. Check out the Blair to Portland thread if you want to see what some other people are saying about that.

Its a good mock, I have trouble telling where some of the pgs and shooting guards might go. I dont look up draft buzz I just go off of what I see on Espn and thats it. where can i get some draft info. I agree someone will drop like Budinger but I cant see who it will be. And the fact is that most of these guys drafted this year are likely to be role players on teams so a team like NJ or Charlotte could take a pg but not likely.

I know you didnt have them there I was stating that it wouldnt surprise me if a team with a legit starting pg took another pg. I dont think it will happen. My point is that I think this draft is filled with role players at best and I dont think many teams will trade up and some picks could be shocking. I like your draft alot.

Im sorry I confused you. im really bored and not really thinking well. I like your draft except Holiday at 4. I think Evans could work there even though he is more of a shooting guard because he can have the ball in hands and make plays for all the shooters that they have like hawes thompson, martin and nocioni. Holiday hasnt shown me better vision than evans has.

I like your view of Evans and He and Griffin are the only 2 prospects who i think will be superstars

But. Holiday is a solid pick. I think he could he a legit great PG. He is 6-4, fast and has a good jumper and can slash at a ok level. We must remember he’s 19 and he could grow into a better PG. He has Gary Payton like potential. I think Holiday at 4 is a solid pick for a Franchise who needs some flash.
