was the lowest pick ever to win the nba rookie of the year award…… this was 1957 and he went 60th overall….This was in 8th round of draft.

The draft’s format has changed through the years to something more streamlined and slickly packaged. Initially, it lasted as long as a any team wanted to continue picking; in ’73, the Buffalo Braves and the Boston Celtics pushed it out to 20 rounds, making 12 of the last 19 picks after most teams had gone home. The next year, the NBA imposed a 10-round limit that lasted until ’85, when the draft was reduced to seven rounds, then three (’88), then the current two (’89).

Since 1989 (CURRENT 2 RD FORMAT) who was the lowest pick to ever win ROY?????? Usually i know the answers to ?’s I pose but IM clueless on this one, unless its Mithy mouse who i believed went 7th overall… Hes my initial guess but does anyone know for sure who it is???

Pretty sure the lowest 1st round selection to win it was Mark Jackson as the 18th pick in the 87 draft.

I don’t think anybody out of the top 10 has won it since 89 to be honest.
