    Who else should start at forward in the East? Bosh maybe…other than that Pierce or Deng are the only other options…

     @ItsDwightHoward

    Bosh, Josh Smith, Danny Granger… There are a lot of people having a better season than Melo, who is shooting 39%.

    I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he is struggling from playing most of the season without a point guard, but seriously? 39%… That’s really bad.

      Yep, I said maybe Bosh. Smith isn’t on the team but if hypothetically he was then yeah I could see him starting too.

      Danny Granger? Seriously? You criticize Melo for averaging 21.4 PPG on 39.7 FG% but you think Granger with his 18 PPG on 38.2 FG% with 1.3 fewer RPG and 2.3 fewer APG deserves to start over him…I don’t see that one

    I have little to no sympathy for Melo, he forced his way out of Denver to play in New York, regardless of the fact that he ruined the team by not waiting for free agency, and that his play style doesn’t fit there at all.

    He used to be one of my favourite players, but he’s a shell of his former self, and I want him to be traded to the Sixers for Iggy and extras, both teams win in that scenario.

    This year, no friggin’ way…it’s not like he makes up for his reprehensible shot selection (and lowest ppg in 8 years) with great defense and leadership.

     nope.  his team was terrible before the Linning streak.  (sorry, couldnt resist).  so far he hasnt made a difference in NY.  also, Bosh is really underrated for what he had done with the Heat, and we know why he is underrated.  Josh Smith is a more valuable player to his team than Melo is to NY.

     Josh Smith. Not even in Orlando is a sham. Melo has missed so many games too. Josh has been a rock for that team, keeping them competitive without Horford and to a lesser extent JJ.

     Maybe he shouldnt be a starter, but only because he’s missed so many games. 21, 6 and 4 are all star numbers tho, even if it is a down year for him so far. The Carmelo hate this year has been ridiculous.

     Melo shouldn’t be starting, but it’s not that big of a deal. Melo is great player having an off-season. Maybe Bosh deserved it more this year, but at least it’s not as bad as Yao getting voted in his Rookie year over Shaq. Or T-Mac getting in in a year he was averaging 3 points a game for 6 games or somthing? Those were disgraces. I mean, Shaq was averaging 27 and 11, and Yao 13 and 8. And at that point in the season probably even less, considering he didn’t play much the first 3-4 weeks of the season.

    Rose, Wade, LeBron, Josh Smith, and Dwight Howard would have been an AWESOME starting five.

    Carmelo has never really been on LeBron’s level and now Durant is way ahead of him too. Carmelo is
    right there with Paul Pierce and just ahead of Rudy Gay (if it all).

    Talk about limitless athleticism.

    Yeah, I would have rather seen Josh Smith start.  I’m not exactly sure if Melo is an All-Star this season, especially since his team was losing so much up to that point.
