I think Jamal Murray goes 4th and the Sun’s trade this pick. The Sun’s strongest positions are the guard spots with Eric Bledsoe, Devin Booker, and Brandon Knight. I imagine they trade down likely for a ridiculous haul from someone like the Pelicans or Kings.

So whether you go team need or best available player, the Suns have lots of room for improvement. With Bledsoe and Knight, they are stacked at the PG position and at the C position, I would like to think they are semi-sold on Alex Len. Although I believe Kris Dunn would be the best player available, unless your trading one of the other PG’s, I would stay away from him.

Considering they have no legit option at PF, I would take a risk and grab Marquese Chriss. Loads of potential, could eventually end up being a very good hybrid forward in the league in 2-3 years. But, I could also see them going with Jaylen Brown or Jamal Murray. My choice would be Chriss

By process of elimination I’m going to say jaylen brown, although I think Phoenix is hoping bender is available. Phoenix really needs a pf but this is probably too early to take sabonis, ellenson or chriss. It wouldn’t really make much sense from a personell standpoint to take murray, hield or Dunn. Brown fills a need for this team and probably has as much potential as anyone in this draft, although I have serious questions about how NBA ready he is right now.

Jaylen Brown is my pick here. Not the best option but this one makes sense. They can still draft a PF at 13 where most bigs are available and they’re stacked at backcourt so Murray/Dunn don’t make sense either unless the pick is traded.

I think everyone is forgetting how good this guy is. Yes he had a bad tournament, and unfortunately the recency effect is always strong when it comes to the draft.

This guy was lighting it up during the year, and the games I watched he looked REALLY good. He has the potential to be a really special wing, especially as he continues to shoot the ball with more consistency. I do think Murray is probably the best player available, but Phoenix has its guards. I’m sure they hope Bender is here, and he very well may be! They can take Ellenson at 13 I think.

I watched about 5 cal bear games this year.  No doubt, brown is very athletic, but I was not impressed by him at all.  Can’t shoot, dribble, pass well enough.  Basically either tries to artack rim, leading to charges or settled for bad 3’s.  usually freshmen gets better, but he really struggled latter part of year ( did opponents figured out how to defend him??)

my my vote is for maker.  If you going to gamble, why not do it on a guy with more upside than brown.  Like someone posted before.  His stats and measurements are same as bender

I can definitely respect that pick. If Maker doesn’t go top 10 I’d really be shocked even though I don’t think I’ve seen one official mock that has him in the lottery LOL.

for the Suns. I think hes has as much long range potential as anyone especially as a two way force. Thought the Celts should look hard at him too but I can see Ainge being a Bender guy lol

As a Suns fan and with us having a lot of talent in the backcourt or at least potential talent if they stay fit then I’m looking for an SF or an SF/PF type player. The C position has Chandler and Len so if I took a frontcourter I’d want someone who was more a PF.

Bender would be the logical pick but he has gone so I agree we reach for Jaylen Brown which if the draft went this way then we might trade down for but then Minny at 5 have similar needs so a few deals may be flying around.

Jamaal Murray. Really need to move Knight after, but all the bigs would be a major reach and Brown just sucks. Murray is a great shooter, and to be honest even with all the guards the Suns have, they don’t have nearly enough shooting. Murray can play with Bledsoe, or Booker, or both at times, as Booker has shown very good ability to be a primary ball handler for stretches. It would be nice if he projected as a better defender, but he can score as well as anyone in the draft, and can do it playing more off the ball, unlike Knight and Bledsoe. It’s not an ideal position for the Suns to be In, but it’s not like they’re running out 4 HOF guards and can’t draft one who is good. Move Knight in a deal for a young big like Jamychal Green and shoot to grab Deyonta Davis and/or Pascal Siakam later in the draft.

My vote goes towards Jaylen Brown, However I do think they might reach for a high ceiling prospect here, my favorite would be Thon Maker but I’m high on him and think he will go in the lottery.

Suns select Jaylen Brown. He might be raw now but he has an amazingly high ceiling and fits a key spot for the Suns at the 3, trade one of Knight/Bledsoe most likely Bledsoe and move Booker to the 2 guard full time. Great athleticism and a solid defender, just work on his 3 point shooting (27% this past season at Cal).

Given the fact that they still have the 13th pick, where they’ll have a choice of a bunch of solid looking frontcourt players, I think they go BPA and take Murray here despite it not being a need.

The Suns need more offensive firepower. They ranked 22nd in points per game and 28th in offensive efficiency (per Hollinger).

My vote is Jaylen Brown. He can start at SF from day 1 and is an immediate upgrade over PJ Tucker and TJ Warren (both of whom I like, but I don’t think should be starters).

There will be plenty of good PFs available at 13.

i’ll go with Kris Dunn and look to move Bledsoe who they were hesitant to pay at the first place. he just gets too injured for me even when he’s on the team thats supposed to be best in staying healthy. knight can start at the point first and dunn can back him up while booker’s play in his rookie year may warrant him to be the full time starter on tip off for next season.

I dont think its the right move but i recall hearing they are thinking of moving Booker to 3, meaning Buddy Hield as the 2 would maje an incredible pair of shooting wings. Theyd be too small for mine, but they wobt pick a PG and i dont see Brown going that high.
