This is a tough pick. The Bucks very clearly have been trying to add shooters into their roster at all cost. If you look at the bench production with Giannis hurt they literally only have Pay Connaughton and Bryn Forbes getting minutes, and they’ve asked Connaughton to hunt down shots and thats not his game. They drafted Nwora last year and he’s looked great whenever he played in the regular season.

Theres plenty of shooters available. In my mock I had him taking Santi Aldama but since then Joe Wisekamp had a ridiculous combine and in this draft Filip Petrusev is still available. Theres also Trey Murphy. I’ll pick later I wanna see other choices.

Daishen Nix. They need a backup PG. Butler’s more accomplished but he’s not really a playmaker.

Well I’m going with Petrusev. Bobby Portis has been huge for the Bucks this year and is going to be an unrestricted free agent. The Salary Cap is set at $125 mil and the Luxary Tax is set at $150 mil from what I can see doing a quick google search. After losing Tucker, Portis and Teague the Bucks are at $145 mil and Bobby Portis will be looking for a payday.

To me this is a no brainer. I highly doubt Milwaukee goes $10/$15 mil over the tax for Bobby Portis. Petrusev has a very similar skillset offensively and could slide in and play backup minutes immediately. He’s also a better defender and athlete than he gets credit for. This is probably his best fit.

Well I’m about to rap this up. Jeff Teague isn’t even a backup PG anymore. No shot they retain him. They are super close to the cap. I think both Portis and Forbes are going to walk. They don’t have the funds. Jordan Nwora and Sam Merrill might both be rotation guys next year and maybe even Mamadi Diakite. Anyway, you cannot be passing on Jared Butler at this point UNLESS the medical issue is that bad. Now, if he’s cleared he won’t be going 31. He’s a top 20 guy worst case scenario. But if it’s still an issue….he could go undrafted. But he played on college, he was cleared then, I think he will fall but not very far. Jared Butler here is a great fit too.

Oh your right Forbes will probably opt out and look for a longterm situation as well. Bucks are really jammed up next year its all or nothing in these playoffs. They might even look to trade Jrue Holiday, especially if they don’t win. Use him as the scapegoat/reason they lost and trade him to clear some space.

Joe Wieskamp here makes a lot of sense too and I don’t think he lasts much longer here. I think he might go first round as well
