ZouldiersParticipantSabonis has to be the pick. The suns need a 4 and he’s the best one left got to take him.

OhCanada-ParticipantSabonis is the Suns pick here but Maker and Labissiere could impress and end up selected.

tblazer_NZParticipantSkal due to him providing rim protection that Sabonis cannot. Plus his potential is what Phoenix needs as they are rebuilding.

theballerwayParticipantI going Brice Johnson here. Lightweight but agile 4 with qood quickness and decent touch. Just needs food and muscle

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantAfter drafting a wing in brown suns will look to solidify their pf position here. The question is whether they want the higher upside, but more of a risk guy in skal or the guy who’s less of a risk and more of a finished product in sabonis. I think they go with skal. His potential to both stretch the floor and protect the rim makes him the better long-term prospect imo and better overall fit for Phoenix’s roster given the young talent they have in place.

HitsterParticipantI’ve gone with Sabonis on a few picks from 8th or 9th so as a Phoenix fan, I’ll go with him here as he’s a consensus top 10 pick on a lot of mocks so shouldn’t really fall further.
Was tempted to role the dice on Maker but I’ll stick with Sabonis.

dremill24ParticipantDomantas Sabonis.
As a Suns fan I don’t like this scenario. I don’t like that Sabonis doesn’t protect the rim or stretch the floor..but I hate Skal more. Sabonis is tough, rebounds like crazy, and is smart. It’s a gamble but I think he may be able to develop a jumper. Having a dog on the boards like him should help the Suns prevent 2nd chance points, and he’s got good touch around the rim.

OhCanada-ParticipantSuns surprisingly were one of the best rebounding teams in the league but it means nothing when they are turning over the ball at a high rate not converting on offensive possessions and playing terrible defence.

Pacersfan22ParticipantSabonis is the pick. He has a good jump shot, very good rebounder with excellent passing vision, can run the floor well. Good low post defender, that will be able to step in immediately and give Phoenix some key minutes. If he can develop anywhere close to how good his dad was then Phoenix got a major steal at 13, he finally got the recognition he deserved when people saw him in the NCAA Tournament but he was a force all year long for Gonzaga.

nill650ParticipantI think with either of Bender or Chriss at 4 more than likely available They may be more likely to take one of them and grab a Prince or Luwawau or Korkmaz here in the actual.
But since they took Brown in this game, I’d say they would take a swing at Skal

BallerScriptParticipantGlad you asked. Demetrius Jackson has proven to be a great team leader at the college level and with the emergence of Booker being a potential star in the league the future of Bledsoe and Knight playing together in Phoenix doesn’t seem like a possibility. I don’t see Ronnie Price as an efficient backup for a team wanting to make a big push in around 2-3 years and Jackson has so much talent and potential that I honestly couldn’t pass on him here. I didn’t go with a PF because I feel like Mirza and Leur are doing just fine and it isn’t as big a need as people make it out to be.

mamadouParticipantNot a single PF under contract, 2 pylons C, hell yeah it isn’t as big a need as people make it out to be.
Teletovic is a back up and he’ll probably play for a PO team next season, Leuer is a 3rd stringer, that’s about it.
I want Davis here but since he’s gone, i’ll go with domantas, he could play the banger right away.
The man, his personality is needed, he cares…

Bankroll PJParticipantSkal. He has a much higher ceiling than Sabonis and the Suns are still very far away from competing in the West so they can afford to let Skal develop at his own rate. If Booker, Jaylen Brown (if picked), and Skal come anywhere close to reaching teir potentials, that’d be a great core.

Evan_MilbergParticipantI wouldn’t fault Phoenix for going with Johnson here, but I think if this mock were to actually unfold this way, you’d have to take Sabonis (who at one point was a candidate for Phoenix’s first pick). I know people here aren’t super high on Sabonis, but getting him at 13 is a steal. I’m not sure you can say that about any of the other remaining power forwards. Skal and Maker have too many question marks to go this high IMO.
