Wilson Chandler is a very solid young player but I think the Knicks should explore trade options for him. He has good athletic tools but he lacks intensity. It is also rare that Gallinari and Chandler both have a good game at the same time. I think trading Chandler would help Gallinari. Bill Walker also does alot of the same thing Chandler does at a cheaper price.

Who could be had for Wilson Chandler?

Here’s a list of guys who could do well under D’Antoni with somewhat small contracts:
(salaries do not have to match up since the Knicks will be under the cap)

    Ramon Sessions
    Ricky Rubio’s contract
    Anthony Randolph
    DJ Augustin
    Earl Clark and 2nd rounder
    Darren Collison
    Jodie Meeks and Jrue Holiday
    Javale McGee
    Ryan Anderson
    Chris Andersen
    BJ Mullens and Eric Maynor

Does anyone see any of these trades as a possibility?

i like chandler’s game and most of those guys WOULD look good in that system. But with the way GM’s are about “upside” and “potential” i dnt see chandler gettin traded for :

    rubio
    collison
    holiday
    randolph
    augustin

    and PROLLY not

    clark
    mcgee
    maynor

I think he is slightly overrated but he is still a solid player. Sessions for Chandler is a good trade that helps both teams.

Collison. This kid has been on a tear since he has started in place of injured Chris Paul. Last night 20 assists. I think it would be a steal for the Knicks to trade for this kid. The turnovers need to be lowered a lot but Collison is looking great.

I dont think Chandler is over-rated, if anything he is underrated with how much he brings to the table offensively and defensively…..I think it would take more than him to get Rubio but i think he can definitely be put in a package to get collison holliday and maybe randolph…probably a little more for augustine but I think Chandler is a really good player that the Knicks should look to deal seeing that they have an overload at the foward position ecspecially if Lebron comes

Chandler is not overrated. He is very skill and is not given the same opportunity it would seem to put up a lot of points all the time but the thing is Knicks are pretty good at small forward so i could see trading him for a point guard like Collison.

chandler is actually underrated and under appreciated. He is the Knicks best all around player, solid defender, versitile and shoots 48% from the field. The reason his numbers are not higher is because he plays out of position because the knicks have a lots of SFs. Gallo starts at and plays the 3 while Chandler is really shoved into wherever and you can tell he often feels uncomfortable with his role. I see him being no worse than Gay in a year or two.

Is not a top trade commoddity to other teams in this league. Wilson is a Byron Russell type player, playing in a system that benefits his abilities. The only way he explodes on the scene is a team that will allow non-scense new york nick style basketball

Chandler is definitely not a “top” trade commodity but he has some value. I would argue that Chandler does not benefit from this system because the Knicks have not been playing stereotypical D’Antoni run and gun basketball and they dont have a pg to effectively give him the ball.
