aramboneParticipantProbably a top 20 pick or even lottery, rather than return to an over-stacked Kentucky rotation.

Lotto StudParticipantIf he’s an academic guy he might as well stay to graduate, since he is passing up on an opportunity this year that would be better then any other year.

capecodderParticipantYou might be right….could get less than 20 mintes a game…..he’s this year’s version of Daniel Orton

imAboutDatActionParticipantumm, no he’s not.
WCS has shown in his two years that he’s a great athlete who’s a real great defender. scouts already know what you get from him.
WCS is going to start. he lose his starting spot to Dakari Johnson, but still played more minutes than him..so it wasnt like he totally lose his spot.
but i agree OP, he should leave. his injury isnt major and this draft is weak in Centers. its the perfect time to leave.

terrancebowerParticipantAgreed 100%. Even if he turns out to be Cal’s favourite big next year, he’ll still get low minutes just because of the depth down low in Kentucky. It’ll be real hard to find minutes for bigs next year.
The ONE benefit is at least he has top notch competition in practice and he’ll get different looks against strength/size (Johnson), athletic players (Lee), skilled big men (Lyles) and guys who can pull him out of the paint (Towns) which should be really good for his development.
There are no centres on the board between Embiid and the bigs at the end of the 2nd round. You’ve got Nurkic but he’ll probably stay overseas to develop for a year or two, and after than Tavares might be the 3rd C off the board (who also might not play right away). There is no one standing in his way, and if anyone drafting outside the top 3 needs a defensive C, they have little to no choice.

terrancebowerParticipantwas agreeing to the initial post, that WCS should have pulled a "jordan adams", not the subsequent posts.

high floorParticipantLook how depleted teams like GSW and ATL are on the front line.
He could arguably contribute 10-15 quality minutes to them if he declared LAST year

Chilbert arenasParticipantAmongst other factors and due to the fact that this years draft is weak in centers and next year is somewhat strong he should leave this year, but love how he and the twins are making it ok to return to school

juves4783Participanti don’t have a problem with wcs’ decision. he has a chance to win a national title, gets another year of education and no way his skills don’t get better playing against dakari, towns, lyles and lee in practice.
man…if uk has a hell of a season, is it possible to have 8 first round picks with towns, lyles, poythress, booker, harrison twins, dakari j and wcs?

CameronCrazy11ParticipantIs he even allowed to enter the draft now? I thought yesterday was the early entry deadline.

BlueLacesParticipantYeah, it is too late for him now. The deadline to declare was yesterday. Part of the new CBA, the deadline is much earlier now.

OneAndDoneParticipantAt first glance it seems as though there may not be enough minutes for WCS due to the crowded frontcourt but i dont know if that is neccisarily the case. the only two guys on that roster that need to be in the paint at all times are D.Johnson and WCS. as any good kentucky fan does i watched all the high school all star games and while neither Towns or Lyles had incredible games the announcers and annalysts raved about both prospects ability to step out and show a nice stroke from midrange and even three range for towns. this gives me hope that Cal will be able to find all these guys playing time at the 3-5 positions. p.s. that backcourt might be stacked too…
