Meditated StatesParticipantThe Celtics traded Joe Johnson in his rookie season because they wanted him to be more aggressive on offense. He seemed unsure of himself. We can see that Joe does not have too many problems on offense now. I have not seen much of Jrue Holiday will he go the same route or just flop?

Lemons4LifeParticipantHe’s going. Right now he looks horrible, but with a year of conditioning I will assume he will live up to his potential.

Knicksboy34ParticipantIt’s summer league….give him time

baller03I think Jrue shouldve stayed in school.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 12:18pm #178500

gatorheelsParticipantHe will be a solid pro. Jrue is really young and still learning how to play PG. He has the size, athletic ability, defense, IQ, & ball handling to be really good. His jumpshot will continue to get better. As he matures he will naturally become more aggressive and sure of himself.

Meditated StatesParticipantI think he should have stayed in school and saw what it was like to be the man at UCLA. Not saying he won’t reach his potential, but he needed more reps at his natural position PG.

thetruthParticipanthe suppose to ball in summer league. which is full or rookies and other players trying to get better or prove themselves. imagine when season starts. i dont think holiday will be that good. i just dont.

MagikKnickParticipantHes not an NBA player, hes not a point guard…
Overrated at its finest..
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 12:47pm #178523

gatorheelsParticipantit seems 90% of people on this website think Holiday is overrated and won’t be a good pro. It is going to be funny when Holiday matures and is starting PG for an NBA team in a couple years. I know for me personally I am way better now at basketball than when I was 19.

maravich44ParticipantPoint guard is the most difficult position to learn. He has the ability to be a star. I think he should have stayed in school to mature and work on his game. He’s far from the finished product. In time, he will be fine. Like Chauncy Billups, he will take a while to develop and become a solid professional player. It will take him longer than the average player, but in 3 years he will be pretty good.

birdman113I SEE HIM AS A SOLID PRO. I THINK HELL 10-12 POINTS A GAME AND PLAY GOOD D. BUT I DONT THINK HELL EVER BE THAT MUCH OF AN SCORER.

brazenbigeParticipantbut people said he would be a lottery pick and he wont produce lottery type numbers. but he will be a solid pro!!…better than eric snow c’mon hes way more athletic than that…

Meditated StatesParticipantHis IQ for the game is very high. He is a smart player who knows the game. He needs to develop that killer instinct and his confidence more than anything. If he does not he will be doomed. I still think the kid will turn it around because he is very young? I am unsure how good he will be though. He should be a NBA player though.

sheltwon3ParticipantHoliday will be fine as he learn the game. His defense is already NBA ready and he has a great body for a part guard. At worse he will be a quality back up. I saw him in drills and I believe it is about him getting confidence because he moves well but I believe he is young and lack confidence.

Stanford hoopsParticipanti guess we will wait and see…though id never say what a players is gonna be just by drills..yes this is summer leauge but the players in summer l;eauge arent half as good as the players he will be facing during the season…he looks the part of a combo guard so far which i think he will eventually be ceiling of a delonte west…i still dont believe or any indication that he will be a star..solid pro player though

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantWas Holiday the backup for Collison?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 2:26pm #178624
Stanford hoopsParticipantno he started at the sg
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 2:26pm #178625

JNixonParticipantI agree with da guru…but would you have taken Snow in the 1st round? Holiday better be good, because we passed on Teague for his overrated ass
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 2:35pm #178649
NYKnicksuperFanParticipantat least not right off the bat, he’ll have to start at point guard for a team that hasnt had sucsees since there last PG-Iverson, in a very hostile city with many all-star potential temates that constintly need the ball, i think in a couple years Philly will give up and get rid of him tthen he’ll be revived for another team and becoe a good player
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 2:35pm #178650

Meditated StatesParticipantNo way I take Holiday b4 Teague I’m sorry man. Your team dropped the ball on that.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 2:36pm #178653

gatorheelsParticipantI would’ve taken Holiday over Teague.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 2:44pm #178671
Stanford hoopsParticipantyea i would have taken jeff 99.9 percent of the time the .1 is if i made a mistake and got the players mixed up
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 2:49pm #178676

gatorheelsParticipanthaha da*n that was harsh josh…lol u really hate Holiday…why? I thought u were a LA fan.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 2:59pm #178692
Stanford hoopsParticipantno i actually think hes gonna be a solid pro..i just think jeff is better plus he proved it..im more of a show me what u can do guy then a hope you can do guy

xbadgerhustlerParticipanti like the eric snow comparison… especially compared to gary payton… Eric Snow was solid and played smart, team basketball. I think Jrue has a higher ceiling than just Eric Snow, though. whether or not he reaches it… we;ll see
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 5:12pm #178822

JoeWolf1Snow was a solid defensive point guard with above average assist numbers. He was a true point guard with not a lot of scoring ability, but he really hustled and was a pretty old school player. I don’t see Holiday like that at all, he isn’t nearly the defender or floor runner Snow was, but he has much better scoring ability and athleticism.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 5:27pm #178834

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantEric Snow was not athletic. Holiday is longer and more athletic imo.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/08/2009 - 6:45pm #178942
xbadgerhustlerParticipantholiday is 19, give him some time. I think that when Holiday’s career is over, we’ll have seen a guy who contributed to his team on defense and also as an above-average assist guy, whether or not he is that right now.
you’re remembering Eric Snow of the 76ers…. he was lke 30+, Holiday is 19.
does anyone remember what snow was like in college or anything? i dont.
