Other than that he’s a very good player, potential All-Star caliber in the NBA, but is he a Franchise player? I don’t think so. He’s no LeBron that’s for sure.

Lebron’s HairlineParticipantThe guy is only a college freshman, and he’s already got so many polished parts of his game, throw in the fact he is a legit 6’10 240 wth elite athleticism. Give him some time with NBA coaches and training staff, plus competent teammates and watch him shine even more

He SHOULD be able to shoot if he puts the work in. He’s a college freshman, he still has a few years.. if he develops a consistent shot, and has a strong work ethic, stays healthy, and had a third of Kobe’s drive to be great= yes he will. He has the ability to if he wants it and can stay healthy.

He seems a bit too laid back while he plays, isn’t an athletic freak (no, he’s not in the same class as Westbrook or Blake Griffin), and can’t shoot at all. However, he is a decent faciliator, a very good rebounder, and will likely become an "okay" shooter down the road. That said, when I watch him play, I basically see a slightly better version of Lamar Odom with a little bit of Scottie Pippen mixed in. He’ll definitely help whichever team drafts him, but I don’t see him improving a team drastically as a rookie (ie he won’t be taking a team from 15-67 last yr to 35-47 during his rookie yr) .

Is Anthony Davis a Franchise Changing Player(FCP)? He looks talented enough but without any help that team will remain awful.
Was Dirk a FCP? It took Dallas years but when they got a good enough team together they won a title.
What about Durant and Westbrook, they’ve been together for a good # of years and just have great stats and a loss to a LeBron led team to show for their efforts so far. Are they FCPs?
Look, Ben Simmons is an outstanding prospect. In his prime will he be a top 10 player in the NBA? Most likely, as long as he works on his game. Is he a guaranteed HOFer? No, not without some serious hard work put into his craft. Could he be the best player on a title winning team? Why not.
I don’t know what people expect from Ben Simmons but the bottom line is with that much talent, size, athleticism and basketball IQ the sky is the limit. The only caveat being does he have the work ethic to achieve his potential. I’m excited to watch what happens. Maybe he does max out at Lamar Odom or maybe he reaches a peak closer to LeBron but your guess and my guess, are just that guesses. Let’s see what develops.

I CALLED GAMEParticipantBen Simmons is a standout player he has the skills to be a great player, the only knock on his game is his jumper, and yes he needs to improve that pivotal piece of his game. In some ways he reminds me of LeBron when he 1st came into the league, LeBron’s jumper wasn’t on point he worked on it an became a good shooter, which ever team is lucky enough & fortunate enough to draft Simmons will look to polish his jumper of course. Simmons does have a decent forum, I believe he’s just a good player on a bad team & its beginning to show, Ima go on the record to say i think the Lakers would be the best fit for Simmons and his style of play you have to really think about it Russell is showing signs of becoming a threat from deep, Clarkson has improved his rang, Julius has started exploring behind the arc, Nance has shown he’s not afraid to let it rip from deep, Anthony Brown is looked at as a 3 and D guy, Nick Young only shoots 3s, Lou Williams has been knocking down the 3 ball. So my point is with the Lakers using the pick and roll, and drive and kick method to get good looks from down town Simmons does a great job drawing help from the help side defender, which would make the offense run smoothly. Simmons also blocks shots creates for others, plays defense and is capable of running the break. I believe he’ll become a franchise player if he goes to the right organization. Odom comparison is if he doesn’t reach full potential and LeBron comparison is if he reaches he’s max potential

Simmons needs to go to a team with young athletes and some shooters. That’s Denver. They can do a lot of different things with him.
If they used him at the point it would be a really potent offense with Harris and Barton on the wings, Gallo, LaVergne, DA, or Faried at the 4, and Nurkic or Jokic at center. They also have two other mid-first round picks to shore up their point guard spot and/or go after a rim protector.
