 I am very proud to say Will the Thrill has finally emerged. After coming off his career high 32-points, 10-rebounds, and 7-assists including 7-3 -pointers he is having another amazing game. So far with 10-mins left in the 2nd he has 22-points vs the Lakers. He should be in consideration for two trophies MIP and 6th Man.

I wonder if the Blazers regret trading him at the deadline for Afflalo.  He’s quietly averaging 15.3pts, 5.9rebs, and 2.3asts this season.

I had him ranked pretty high in the draft, thought he had some great games in Portland when he got legit minutes, but played pretty bad when they played him 5-15 minutes. In some summer game against a bunch of pros he scored 60-some-odd points. That caught my eye. While the game was unofficial, who can do that against pros? Not a lot of guys. I started to doubt him, but it’s pretty clear he’s awesome.

I had him ranked pretty high in the draft, thought he had some great games in Portland when he got legit minutes, but played pretty bad when they played him 5-15 minutes.  He couldn’t shot outside the paint in high school and still dominated due to his attacking mindset. He’s clearly put in a lot of work on his jumper, and now that he’s nailing 3’s he could become a legit starting 2 guard in the NBA. Also is a good human being,he does a lot of charity work in Baltimore.

 Man i praised this guy guy so much when he was at memphis. My very first post on this site was asking why he was so underated. I loved watching him play and his unorthodox ways, exiting in the break and very emotinal… i remember him crying when knocked off the tournament.

He dropped to the second because of frame and shooting mechanics but he was stat wise the best SG (or top 2) that sophmore year of his. I went as far as saying he had the best chance to make an NBA all star game from a second round pick.

I hope he keeps improving

 Man i praised this guy guy so much when he was at memphis. My very first post on this site was asking why he was so underated. I loved watching him play and his unorthodox ways, exiting in the break and very emotinal… i remember him crying when knocked off the tournament.

Same, I thought he was definetly a 1st round pick… It seemed they went overboard talking about how skinny he was back in the day, he was always productive, and always played at max effort.  I used to say he was one of my favorite 2nd round picks, I never thought he’d blow up quite like this though, obviously his agent didn’t either, 32-10-6 the other night?? The Nuggets have a damn good rotation player for the next 2½ seasons for cheap..

 He’s going to make a serious run at MIP..

Also Denver was only projected to win like 22 games, he’ll be the main reason they go over..

Portland was foolish not to keep Barton around, I remember Stotts saying he had potential to be pretty good in the league his rookie year..

Can’t believe I didn’t draft him on my fantasy team.  Was one of the guys I really wanted to take late, and he went undrafted.  Oh well.

A high motor guy, always reminded me of Latrell Sprewell.

Wow.  He has a 20 PER.  Making $3.5 million for the next 3 years.  That’s a really, really good value for the Nuggets.  Looks like a steal, now.

The Nuggets are an interesting team.  I think they tried to blow it up, failed, and now they have some younger guys coming on, and they are actually still in the hunt for the 8th seed.  They have had some injuries, but they have some talent on paper, and, historically, Denver is a tricky place to play in due to the high altitude.  Hey, maybe they are a team who can run with the Warriors.  The Warriors like a high scoring game, and so do the Nuggets.  

I don’t want to say just yet that the Nuggets are a team that no one wants to play in the first round, but they DO have some things going for them: youth, energy, some solid athletes like Will and Faried, then "young" vets like Faried and Gallo who have been around a bit.  Then they have some savvy vets like Jameer Nelson, Darrell Arthur, and Mike Miller.  Has MM even played?

On paper, the team at least looks DANGEROUS.  Not exactly the team you want having a 1-1 split going back to Denver, then you could be looking at a 6 or 7 game series.

The West could come down to which of the top two teams (Warriors, Spurs) plays FEWER games going into the WCF.  

Hats off to Gary Harris too.  Looks like he had a good game for himself, as well.  So, if they go with the younger guys then they have a Mudiay, Harris, Barton perimeter attack.  Pretty interesting.  Then they can go with a small ball front court with Gallo as a stretch 4, then either one of their young centers at the 5, or a smaller Ken Faried.

Not saying the Jazz are an easier out, but they are less explosive offensively, and should be an easier team to face if Rudy Gobert is banged up…  Then I like the Nuggets mix of younger guys/rookie deal guys, "young vets", and solid veterans.

Back to Will Barton: he is in his fourth year.  I think he only played two years in college.  So, he is basically starting his prime, and has probably not reached his PEAK, yet.  He could be scary.  In an up and down system, why can’t he get 20 a night?  He is at 15.7 points and 6 boards now, and I still think he has upside.
