jojososaParticipantThe Detroit Pistons have agreed to a two-year deal with free agent Chris Wilcox, a source told ESPN.com.
Wilcox
The deal is for $6 million over the next two years according to sources.
Wilcox was signed as a replacement for Antonio McDyess, who left the team via free agency to sign with the Spurs.
Wilcox is an athletic big who, at 26, still has some upside. However, he’s coming off one of the worst seasons of his career.
The previous three years, Wilcox averaged a little more than 13 points, but his numbers dipped to 7.2 per game last season in time split between the Thunder and Knicks.
The Pistons are hoping Wilcox can provide some scoring and athleticism off the bench behind another free agent signing, Charlie Villanueva.

llperezis a littel underrated. He can defend and run the court and finish strong around the basket. He could compete for some minutes at the 5 spot.

sheltwon3ParticipantOKC was not really trying to play him and he got lost in trades. I think if Curry will have fell to the Knick Wilcox maybe would have be resigned there.

dwat4444Participanthe averaged 13 points a game for Seattle in 2008 so he’s got some real talent

D HampParticipantIs this the same Wilcox who gained national exsposure from Juna Dixon great play-making? So much in fact, that the Clippers underservedly drafted him in the lottery. He is a big-time underachiever. Call it like it is.
He was supposed to be the second coming of McDyess, not replace him on the bench.Well, he’s still in the league, but I salivated for a whole lot more.
Dhamp..the new Hubie Brown

doubledribblerParticipantI don’t think he’s a bad player, he’s just not quite been in the best situations. I would really like to see him on a team that does a lot of running. He was with one in NY, but I think he was wanted more because his contract expired. It’s hard to beat getting a quality big for 3 million a year.

JNixonParticipantHe is a decent player. Just got picked too high. He reminds me of the player I think Jordan Hill will be, a good post scorer even though he isnt polished. Detroit is a good place for him.

dwat4444Participantwill those people who hate me please make yourselft known. Above I posted a simple comment about his stats in 2008 and how he has some talent. Why did people give me negative points for that? I don’t care about points normally but I noticed that and almost every single one of my posts is givin negative points. Even ones that don’t really mean anything. I’m just wondering if someone on this site has something against me.

Knicksboy34ParticipantWilcox will be solid for the Pistons. He can play a little 5 and be a solid backup 4. The Pistons still need a PG and another player to play a little C.
Dwatt4444….stop complaining

eprizzle14Participantlonny baxter was better then wilcox in college. wilcox just passes the eye test
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/19/2009 - 8:45am #184400

JNixonParticipantBut Wilcox is better than Baxter in the NBA though. Lonny Baxter was too small in the NBA, and was glued to the bench the year or 2 he played.
