Ben Simmons is considered one of the best prospects to come out of college in a while.  However he couldn’t bring his team to a NCAA Tourney and has stated he wants to play in LA.  Best case the sixers get his rookie years and a couple years in his prime before he jumps ship.  If the sixers trade the number one pick to the Lakers for Russell,Randel, #2 pick and lift any protection on next years pick.  Then trade the #2 pick to Boston for Smart, #3 and the lower of the celts and nets pick next year.  Philly ends up with 3 unprotected 10 pick next year and brings in Smart, russell, randel and #3(murry).  They won’t compete next year but russell smart and murry would be one fun back court. upfront u have saric, covington, randle, emiid, noel and Okafor with the opportunity to grab 3 studs in next years draft.  I know I’ll take a bunch of heat for this but it makes sense for every team involved.

I wish the league would just ban the sixers from being able to trade for the sole purpose of these ridiculous posts 24/7.  The sixers are taking Simmons.  No ifs, buts or maybes.

This also opens up trade opportunities for star players.  Okafor won’t get you much but paired with Russell and the lakers unprotected pick you could get Jimmy Butler.  the Opportunities would be endless with all the caproom and potenial between all those guys.

No just no.  You take Simmons and build around him and anyone that doesn’t fit you trade.  Philly already have plenty of assets and picks but there is only one Ben Simmons.

Okafor put up excellent stats in his rookie year, imagine what he could do with a top creative point player to feed him and the likes of Embiid creating havoc in the mid range area.

Philly would only trade the top pick if it was for a proven franchise level player who had several years left on his deal and those sort of trades only happens when a team wants to be “win now”.
