Switching is a big problem with the Knicks.  They are usually undersized when Chandler isn’t on the court and switching leads to mismatches and 3s.

Melo actually isn’t an awful defender he’s far from Lebron but who is.  People have that label on him but he needs to give more effort on defense for sure.  1on 1 his defense is fine for the most but when it comes to rotating and covering 3 pt. shooter he suffers.

Amare is too passive on defense but he’s a role player.  Also Bargnani has been pretty decent on defense not just guarding Howard, he blocked some shots.  Problem w/Bargnani is he dissapears in 2nd half of games and his passing has been bad.

Hard to knocks the Knicks defense when Chandle has missed probably 90% of their games.  Throw in Felton, Prigioni and MWP and they are missing too many rotation guys.

Shumpert plays very good defense but needs to to talk half a step back you don’t want guys driving past you.  He seems to foul a lot in that situation.

If they cut down on the fouls and switching they are fine on defense.

Problem this year has been the offense they haven’t hit shots for most of the season and last years 2nd leading scorer on the team JR has been terrible.

Might it be that the Knicks players are used to have Chandler patrolling the paint, so they let players go to the middle to run into him? Not saying this is a good excuse, but it might explain why most players let this just happen.
