Hype MachineI’d say he’s lucky…Purely based on this season’s play…Lillard has been better than Davis.
Lillard has played more games, won more games and his stats are just as impressive. I’d say he has an equally bad supporting cast and deserves to be in the team more than Davis who hasn’t been the same type of leader as Lillard.
Rondo has been good, but I don’t consider him a snub.

phila9012ParticipantHow did aldridge make it over lillard and dirk. Dirk is old and is leading his team to sixth in the conference. He should have been in the all star game over Kobe. Dirk is 37 and still playing at an all star level. He is just a notch below duncan and Kobe for his era. He actually earned it too. Kobe hasn’t played in a meaningful game. Then lillard over aldridge. Lillard always seems to get snubbed for things. He earned it this year, he somehow has the blazers in 8th mccollum deserves some credit but it is lillard who is leading them.

LA12ParticipantThe worst part of all this All Star weekend news is I’m hearing they’re putting Cousins in the Skills Challenge…

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantUnfortunately, the pelicans just haven’t been very good this year. Davis has dealt with injuries this season and hasn’t quite made the leap some were expecting him to. However, when you look at his overall body of work he’s not very far off individually from where he was last season when many were saying he was an mvp candidate. He deserves to be an all-star, even if his team hasn’t been good.
In a perfect world lillard would be in too, but it was always clear that someone was going to get screwed so Kobe could have his last hurrah. There’s still a chance he could get in as an injury replacement.

ExumInfernoParticipantJust let the fans vote, for 2 centers, 4 forwards and 4 guards per team. Let the coaches add one player to each roster, and the players pick one player too.

ZachAttackParticipantIf we did that, we’d see Zaza Pachulia in the all star game. Who the heck wants to see that?

ph90702Regarding your statement about being made of glass, I think that he illustrates the major downside to letting 19 year olds play in the NBA. I feel that he’s at an injury deficit that could have been avoided if he stayed in college longer. Unless you look like LeBron James at 19 years old, you are at a major physical disadvantage having to compete with a 25-27 year old player on average.

bmac697ParticipantFor Davis to make his full contract value he needs to hit some milestones, being named to an all star so many times was one of them.
Conspiracy, up for you to decide.
The one player that deserved to be there instead of Davis who is having a down year is lillard.

HitsterParticipantAveraging 23ppg, 10rpg and 2.4bpg looks like All Star figures to me. He is 3rd highest scoring player in forward category for Western Conference players so that makes him hugely pickable IMO.
I agree that Lillard deserved to be in but the Western backcourt is insanely stacked.
