OhCanada-ParticipantRAY ALLEN IS NOT AN ALLSTAR
Heres 5 players deserving allstar recognition more or as much as Ray Allen. He averages 18-ppg with great percentages and lacks in other stats. Ray is on a winning team with 3 other allstars.
- Luol Deng
- Danny Granger
- Josh Smith
- Raymond Felton
- Andre Igoudala
INTERESTING FACTS
- Lou Williams, Jamal Cawford, and Danilo Galinari show similar production in less minutes as Ray Allen yet get no nrecognition.
- Andre Igoudala’s Philadelphia 76ers sit in 7th place yet have no Allstar Representitive.
- Josh Smith has been a complete allstar snub the last 2 years, yet is averaging 17-ppg, 9-rpg, 3.5-apg, 1.5bpg, 1.5spg on the 5th best team in the East.
- Raymond Felton averages 17-ppg, 9-apg, and 2-spg on a playoff team.
- Grangers team recently found themseleves on a run so not giving him recognition is understandable.
- Deng is having a career year and fitting into that 3rd option amazingly.

Ghost01ParticipantWell, if J Smoove would have made it, theres no way he AND Horford AND Johnson would have all made it.
Personally, I think had either of Chicago’s Noah or Boozer played more than half the season, they would be more deserving than Ray. Felton had it locked up til he started shooting like 30 percent in 2011.

ilike.panochasParticipantIt’s not always about stats, Allen is much more important to Boston than just his 18PPG, and I’m sure if he wasn’t playing alongside Pierce he would probably average more than 18PPG.

OhCanada-ParticipantIts Josh Smith’s spot…layers like him are extremely rare i this league and without him Atlanta would be hurting.

sheltwon3ParticipantI actually understand why Ray Allen made it. Also giving their weakness at the 2 spot if Allen was on the Bulls he would be outplaying Deng. Iggy is an effort guy but his stats dont look great but he is a jack of all trades but Smith’s numbers exceed his. I think J smooth should have made it over Horford though. Felton would have made if he did not go into a slump which caused the Knicks the wins that could have them over ATL and possibly Orlando which would have almost guranteed them 2 players in the All Star game.

ChrischiParticipantJ-Smoove > Horford
and
Boozer > Allen
Imo.
J.Smoove and Horford show similiar production but Smoove is by a far better on defense. The Hawks get 13 points per 100 possesions less with Jason Collins playing the 5.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantAnother way to look at it:
Ray Allen: 17.3 points, 3.6 rebounds
Western Conference All-Star snubs:
LaMarcus Aldridge: 22.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 1.1 steals
Monta Ellis: 25.3 points, 5.5 assists, 2.2 steals
Eric Gordon: 24.1 points, 4.5 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 1.2 steals
Zach Randolph: 20.1 points, 13.2 rebounds
Rudy Gay: 19.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.7 steals
Allen DEFINITELY should not be an All-Star this year.

llpereztheres no question ray doesnt make it if he was in the west. Looking at the snubs from each conference, you got guys playing out of their mind having career years in the west while in the east your options are ray allen, raymond felton or sending a third hawk in josh smith.

thaprodigyParticipantI’ll tell you why he is… He’s playing in the game and those guys aren’t
But really just sit back and enjoy the game

durantula83ParticipantIt’s not all about stats, how about all the crucial shots he makes. When his team’s down, he can get them back in the game on any given moment. Perfect pro, his mental stamina is top notch and one of the best clutch shooters in the game. This guy’s a legend, he knows exactly what he needs to do to WIN. Now that’s a real rarity in this game, and he plays his role into perfection. He could easily averag 5 or 6 points per game more playing on a bad team where he would be the first option, even at his age now. And best of all, he makes 50% of his shots, and if you think of all the shots he takes under pressure then that’s pretty amazing. The whole league knows he’s a deadly outside shooter, they play him closely but they still can’t stop him… I rest my case.

OhCanada-ParticipantSmith is a huge snub, I just think he deserves one especially if Love deserves one over Parker, or Aldridge. I mean Smith is outting up crazy numbers and his team is winning.

durantula83ParticipantYou’re right about Josh Smith, Matt. But I don’t think he’ll become an All-Star before he either becomes a valid go-to guy and permanently steps out of the shadow of Joe Johnson (which he has already began to do with his career season) or takes the Hawks on his back all the way to the Conference Finals. They have underperformed year after year in the playoffs, and I still think J-Smoove has much room to improve.

The lake show2Allen would be out shooting Deng but not out playing. Deng is a better defender,Rebounder and he also scores. outplaying someone involves more than just shooting, scoring.

OhCanada-ParticipantI wouldnt go as far as saying they underperformed. There are many good teams and honestly if they advance to the 2nd round this year they are achieving alot. There are 4 teamms better then them in the East right now and at least 5 betetr then them in the West. It is very difficult for them to make more of a push then they already have. Smth still has alot of pieces in his game he can improve. I think he needs to develop alot more of his wing skills such as perimeter shooting, ball handling skills, and a true go to move. He could be a very good player if he does.

mgreener_34ParticipantOut of all the people you named they are players who amaze you one play, then totally frustrate you the next. All of them are either inconsistent or just not as good as Ray Allen is.
