In the history of this site, how many of the proposed trades that originated here have actually manifested in the real world? Why do people post their biased ideas that have almost zero chance of ever happening? It’s a waste of space on the main page and lowers the quality of this forum.

Yea you can have a discussion and so forth but at the end of the day it’s all fantasy. Furthermore the trades are very unrealistic. Seriously, out of the thousands or so trade ideas how many did actually turn out to be true in the NBA?

Ok, thumb me down fantasy trade originators and those who enjoy discussing their ridiculous proposals.

Because a lot of teams suck. Fans of those teams want their team to be good as quick as possible and think of ridiculous trades which would make their teams better. It’s just dream thinking which results from poor results in the league.

Also, they like to dream about being GM’s, making their teams champions like they seem too in 2k video games and also talking about scenarios that never happened, but would have been really cool if they did. I appreciate you pointing this out, but I do not think you are the first one, and do not expect them too stop anytime soon. Now, if you do not mind, I am going to try and find a way for the Milwaukee Bucks too trade an Avocado for Andrea Bargnani……..

I completely agree, one sided trades make the person look uneducated about basketball and biased.

Play around on the trade machine, but don’t post your bull$hit trade just because the salaries match.

I agree a lot of the one sided trades are rediculous, and not many trade ideas are ever gonna come true. But no one sees a lot of the trades that do happen coming. How many negative points would the Baron Davis-Mo Williams trade have got. Some one is gonna call one sometime and we’re gonna here about it forever! God help us all.

i’m only post trades that are logical and make sense, almost all of my trades are geniuses and teams will be smarts to listen to me!

Make it a banana and you got a deal for bargnani, i’m from australia and we lost alot of bananas in a cyclone. We’ve got heaps of avacardos and tall Italions but no bananas!!

When we look at players who might be on the block perhaps Iggy this summer or with rumours that teams might trade out the draft eg Cleveland giving up the 4th pick etc. But when you read a trade say maybe Rondo for Westbrook etc you know that they will not happen.

Also rarely are two star players swapped, often it’s one star player for expiring deals, picks, young talent etc and trades actually often include more pieces than we do as teams look to shift a few fringe players as well.

I don’t come up with a random trade off the top of my head unless we know teams are looking to rebuild their roster. For instance a team like Denver may do a few deals in the next few months depending what Nene does, Chandler’s restricted FA, possibly looking to get some value for Ray Felton etc.

Anyone can come up with random trades but we tend to know when the blockbuster deals might happen or they come so suddenly who can predict them.

I always look at what teams have assets/picks stashed away/expiring contracts, the sort of front office they have to try and gage deals. Cleveland currently have two high picks, the LBJ exception, Jamieson on an expiring 2012 deal and the picks due from Miami so Chris Grant has plenty of trade ammo and is likely to look to improve his roster as they came off a 19-63 season.

The Chicago front office may make a few complimentary moves via FA or do something with their draft picks but there are unlikely to be any major moves soon I’d guess so trades ripping the roster apart are unlikely to happen.

Realistically a person could make a list of all the trades that could actually happen right now in the NBA.  The NBA has 360 players plus players on injured reserve.  That limits the number of trade possibilities. Then the fact that the NBA has a salary cap which leads to matching salaries.  You could probably only list off 50 to 100 trade possiblities that were worth talking about.
