Does anyone have insight into why Ron Adams has never become a head NBA coach?

I just looked up his age; he is 68. Is it too late for him?

given his age and how much he’s been part of successfull teams as an assistant coach, i can only speculate that he doesnt want to be one. maybe he doesnt like the attention or preasure a head coach gets. how often they get bashed in the media or how often their made scapegoats by organizations, not to mention how primadona stars get them fired for doing their jobs.

i believe he’s one of the highest paid assistant coaches in the league, so if he’s making the same kind of money while taking on less responsibilities and preasure, allowing him to focus in what he does best, then he’s in a preety good situation if you ask me.

the warriors are very lucky to have him and hopefully he retires with them,

I loved what he did with Boston in his one year there.  He helped Brad Stevens transition into the NBA while also working with Avery Bradley to improve his shooting.  Golden State then brought him in to help Steve Kerr.  If I’ not mistaken he worked with Livingston on his shooting as well.
