blackflash234ParticipantCole Aldrich had a great season last year and could’ve been a top 10 pick if he had entered the draft. This year, Cole Aldrich has taken a major hit in terms of production compared to the 14,9,11.1 and 2.7 blocks he averaged last year. In terms of blocking shots, he’s stepped it up a bit to 3.6 blocks per game but I just feel that his stock should’ve fallen to at least the top 15/20 range.

the I in winParticipantI don’t think he should go in the lottery but you can’t argue with his size and strength, he is also a very good rebounder. I just don’t think he will be able to score in the nba.

hotshotschampParticipantAldrich gives you
-rebounding
-blocks
-great outlet passer
-works his ass offHis offensive game is a work in progress, I see no reason he can’t chip in 12-15 pts in his prime, with great other stats.

PaulsJayhawksParticipantIf you watch Cole he plays as hard as anyone out there never taking a play off. While not a great scorer he will keep balls alive on offense and will be a solid solid defender in the NBA. Hes a Prybilla type guy, extremly long and alters many more shots that he doesn’t get credit for. The death of his grandmother and fighting broncitis got him off to a rough start but hes rounding into form. I see him as late lottery or just looking in from the outside.

gatorheelsParticipantThere simply isn’t many big men in this draft who are going to be able to contribute right away or at least make a significant impact…Aldrich happens to be one of those rare few. That is why is he a lottery pick. Not to mention he is physically ready for the pros. Plus like hotshotscamp was saying Aldrich can rebound, block shots, pass, & he works hard.
Got to remember Kansas really didn’t lose anybody from last season’s team. They gained Xavier Henry who is taking a little bit of everybody’s shots. Kansas overall is super deep & one of the elite team’s in the country. There is a reason Aldrich’s stats may be down some. It isn’t because he is playing bad.

the I in winParticipantI’m not saying he won’t score in the nba because of his stats. I’m saying that because everytime he plays another good bigman he struggles. Also when he puts up shots they don’t have much arch, he gets away with it in college but that won’t work in the nba when people are taller and more athletic than him.

esperanzafleet69Participantsimply put because hes the best center in college basketball… he plays within his position VERY well and attacks the glass great… he also plays great in the clutch…

JNixonParticipantIf you watch him play, he’s still as big a presence defensively both on and off the ball down low as there is in college basketball. He is a great rebounder. He is a good passer and not as turnover prone as most big men. He has some decent moves down low that are unblockable because of where he releases them. He’s not quite what I’d call a talented offensive post player, but he’ll get the job done because he has some decent post shots. He’s somewhere between Brendan Haywood and Joel Pryzbila

joe2BAParticipantThroughout the season Aldrich has battled Bronchitis, a stress fracture, and his grandma’s bought with cancer.
He is 100% now and his numbers have shown: 16 points and 13 rebounds in his last three games. After the game against K-State, Bill Self yelled down the tunnel to Cole; “The Big Fella is Back!”

the I in winParticipantI never said he doesn’t present a defencive presence. I said he is big and can rebound but i don’t think he will score well when going against nba bigmen. Defencive bigmen are nice but not deserving of a top 5 pick ala Hasheem Thabeet.

powerguard97ParticipantCole Aldrich is a gamer! he shows up in big games like the NCAA championship, Big 12 Championship..u know the big games..he plays good defense as well…if Tyler Hansborough cna go that high last season why not Cole? he is a defender and rebounder who gives you max effort…he is no top 10 pick….good question who does thes mock drafts anyway…every week thyey should let the people vote on the top 10.
