IhateusernamesParticipantFinding out Wiggins hasn’t signed yet makes me wonder why he’d risk an injury without a contract?

ph90702I was just about to ask this. It makes no sense to me.

IknoBall12ParticipantA while ago my cousin was drafted by the clippers and he went out to Vegas to play summer league. He hadn’t signed his contract yet but was still payed for those games. Those guys get paid regardless if drafted or if a team really wants to bring them on. It’s not in the contract but it’s a fixed amount. What people don’t know is that some of those guys trying to make a team that play summer league actually pay their own way to go out there. I feel bad becuase they aren’t guaranteed playing time and some of it is just for a chance to show what they have. A lot of those guys are playing for d league contracts

King CaluchaParticipantThey are basically non-free agents. I don’t see why they should have any benefits before they get signed.

Toronto16ParticipantIsn’t the rookie contract guaranteed even if he were to get hurt?

The8thDeadlySinParticipantFirst round guys play because their money is guarnteed. They will be on a roster next year or at least getting paid like they are.
Second round and undrafted guys are playing to make a team. They have nothing guarnteed.
Also, they get paid to play in the summer.
