What’s the hold-up? The Andray Blatche to the Nets’ move, a sensible and logical act, is expected to happen. It’s just going to take a little longer than it previously appeared.

Blatche, the talented 6-11 power forward who was amnestied by the Wizards, has other business that needs to be addressed first before he could or would make any official agreement, explained his agent, Andy Miller, who still sees the 9.9-point career scorer as a good fit for the Nets.

Blatche likely will agree sometime this week to report to the Nets — there are options, but every indication says Brooklyn. Previously, it appeared he might have signed as early as last week.

The team inked power forward Blake Griffin to a long-term extension, which was the franchise’s top priority, according to President Andy Roeser.

Jason Terry is much more comfortable in the sixth man role, so there is no need to mess with that. Besides him, there are really no other pure guards that you can count on as Dionte Christmas and Jamar Smith are far too unproven to warrant meaningful minutes at this juncture.farf2323

I always felt Lee would be the type of player that would fit in seamlessly with a new team, especially a team with championship aspirations. He doesn’t always need the ball in his hands and has always been a willing defender, dating back to his days at Western Kentucky.l;798089

“We do this every day,” Drummond said. “We have nothing to do besides doing what you love, playing basketball. Being in the gym everyday with my teammates is the greatest feeling.

“The NBA has a lot more structure. The coaching staff has been great for me getting better, quicker. I am just doing what the coaching staff is telling me to do.”

Former two-time scoring champion Tracy McGrady’s star power may have flickered in the NBA after an assortment of injuries robbed his explosiveness, but the forward still has global appeal evident by his one-year deal to play with the Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association.

McGrady’s former teammate with the Atlanta Hawks point guard Jeff Teague spent time in China this past summer and noted how big the NBA game is there and how the fans have very strong love for McGrady.ty3t343

Of course, playing both forward spots (and even a little shooting guard) isn’t possible without being in basketball shape. Green isn’t recovering from an injury — just a health scare — but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to log 30 minutes a night.
