I know you’re going to catch heat for this but I’m with you. Anyone who watched his Kentucky career knows he has absolutely no shot. All of his hook shots are basically throwing the ball down at the rim. He lacks the footwork, soft hands, and balance that is ideal for a true post player. He can be a difference maker on the defensive end which is why I like the Larry Sanders comparison but like Sanders he’s slight of frame and will get pushed around in the paint. Good news is he’s only 20 years old and so people have hopes he can sure up some of his deficiencies.

 I’m going to have to agree. He’s kind of a mirror image of Bizmack Biyambo, who has a hard time escaping the bench in Charlotte. Both could be late bloomers (like Tyson Chandler) but I don’t see it.

I was never sold on his offense, from when I watched him play as a high school player and when I watched him play on Kentucky. Remember one year ago thinking that Noel is going to be something quite special on defense but I just see him getting destroyed by NBA bigs with his extremely raw offense.

Noel is flawed, but I can see him becoming a DeAndre Jordan type.  Slightly less physically dominant than Jordan, but he is more skilled than Jordan at the same age (not saying much).  Noel can be a lob target who is deadly running in transition.  He will cut hard to the rim, so he will be solid in the PnR game with practice.  And maybe he will develop as a post player in time.  His footwork isn’t good enough for him to become great, but he could become decent in time just due to his length and quickness.

 I didn’t know that trying to block anything no matter what is an uncommon defensive instinct.  The guy jumped on just about every head fake thrown at him, he is no Anthony Davis defender (to be fair who is though?).  His best attribute is that he was a freak athlete, and now that might be a question after his surgery.  I’d say he is a wait and see type player.  Don’t want to write him off yet, but I think he is going to be somewhat underwhelming.  Remember this guy got his a$$ handed to him by Alex Lin who picked bench splitters all last season.

 I agree.  I doubt he’s ever a great rebounder due to his very slight frame.  And he probably won’t ever develop much of an offensive game.  He will be a terrific shot blocker though.  I hope I’m wrong b/c I’d like to see him develop into a great player, I just don’t see it happening.
