cprizz15Participantif they were both in this year’s draft?.. John Wall or Blake Griffin?

kotyParticipantBlake Griffin because to me it seems each year there seems to be many proven pgs. But their aren’t usually many forwards who have that kind of athleticism and strength to go along with skill. i would take griffin

TONYDABOSS77Participanti WOUlD TAKE JOHN WAll ..

ZKParticipantA guy like him desnt come arond often. He has so much potential. I think the difference between the two is that Blake could at best be an all star player while Wall has hall of fame potential.

bluedevils12Participantdont get me wrong i love wall’s game but its not 2 often that talented athletic bigs like blake griffin come around

QHaynes123i think i would take Wall because for some weird reason, the last PG’s to come into the league have been really good

HaleParticipantI would take Wall. Point guards are at a premium right now with the success of Paul, Willaims and Nash plus Rondo and Rose in the playoffs. Plus next year Amare, Dirk and Bosh are going to be FA’s so if you can’t get Griffin this year, through a lot of money at one of those guys and your set at that pos.

Michael.S.ParticipantMAYBE best nba pg for years 2 come
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/31/2009 - 1:25pm #154952

Mr. BasketballParticipantpoint guards are not at a premium right now. there is so many good ones and so many in this draft that a big man will those skills and athleticism is more at a premium. think about it there is: rondo, harris, paul, d-will, kidd, nash, nelson, bibby, mo williams, baron davis(will be good next year), tony parker. if half of the league has good pgs and many are coming in via the draft every year why try to stay with them by taking a pg rather than surpassing them by taking a skilled big man that is as close to a lock as it gets.

JNixonParticipantJohn Wall is going to be a top 5 point guard at the very worst. As a matter of fact, if he was “only” a top 5 point guard, he would be an underachiever. He is as physically gifted as they come. He would’ve be a monster in the NBA as an 11th grader.

birdman1113ParticipantWall will be a superstar but Griffen might not even make the all-star team.

auberParticipantFrom what we saw from Derrick Rose his rookie campaign I’m taking a player like him in John Wall over Blake Griffin.

billykParticipant“He would’ve be a monster in the NBA as an 11th grader.” Some people need to stop overrating prospects, personally I would take Griffin becasue he is a proved commodity in college….

dsalummm……. Griffin is an easy choice here. Look at his numbers he proved himself to be a sure fire number 1 pick. Wall has been a fabulous HS player thats it. Griffin did it 2 yrs in a row in college

RemarqParticipantWall hasnt even played against real college level competition. The jury is still out, he wouldnt be the first major bust, keep that in mind.

gwh21Participanti would take blake hands down. wall might be an all timer but 1) he hasnt even played in college yet (blake dominated college) and 2) when was the last time there was a team in the finals that didnt have a all star caliber big man on the team? (big man being a PF or C) other than the 76er’s in ’00 and the bulls of the 90’s NOBODY!! and those teams are the rare exceptions because they had 2 of the greatest scorers/competitors in NBA history. AI was playing out of his MIND that year and Jordan still had Pippen (another top 50 all timer). i mean there is a reason that this is the only the 2nd year in the last 10 that neither shaq or TD have been in the finals. but in the last 2 they have been replaced by Pau for 2 for the west and KG and dwight in the east.
point guards and wings get you to the playoffs. big men win TITLES!!

rvirsalParticipanthow many good pgs are in the league today? almost every team has a good pg running their team. how many athletic bigs with star written all over them in the league today? not much. so why get a pg?

superjackParticipantGriffin all day every day
and honestly i dont think that wall will be Hall Of Fame material hes still got lots to work on and hasnt proven against older more experienced players. dont get me wrong he’ll be damn good, but not HOF.
griffin = 20 10 for maybe 8 years. those guys tend to win championships and/or HOF

JNixonParticipantThere is a good power forward on almost every team too, so what you sayin??
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/01/2009 - 5:43am #155153

bflaa2ParticipantGriffin has a chance to change the PF position. He is so athletic, great rebounder. If he continues to develop post moves he will be an insane monster.
Wall will be good and be an All Star but I think Griffin has proven(concensus number one for a while) that he is a beast and I think he will carry it over to the next level.0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/02/2009 - 2:46pm #155807
bluedevils12Participanti think the problem we have here is that we have seen so much of john wall blazing by and dunking on these high schoolers that we have forgotten there arent many good high school defenders out there. i mean how would john wall fare against sum of the top defenders in the league? i take it a step further and ask could john wall score at will against oj mayo or derrick rose? im not so sure. we need to see wall in action against more prime talent and not just the guys he dominates.

MattissickParticipantWall has a lot more potential than Griffin I guess I would take Wall but I like Griffin a lot more. Seems like a better character guy. I think Wall’s ceiling is a lot higher than Griffins though. I think at worst, Griffin will be a Kenyon Martin and at best he will be an Amare. Wall it could go either way but I think he is likely to be pretty good.
