llperezif you werent suggesting its rigged, then why add the question "and why"? ‘And why" implies you think there is something else that determines who wins the lottery other then becase they had their combination pulled from the machine.

Hype MachineActual statistic based on my own research:46% of draftnet users think the lottery is rigged. The other 54% believe it either "isn’t rigged" or "probably isn’t rigged".However, the question allows you to answer it in any number of ways. You could say the reason why you selected a team is simply good luck or the best odds. I’d even accept a hunch as a reasonable answer.0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2016 - 2:12am #1040018

Because their ping pong ball will be picked out first.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipant29 Other Teams would likely want some answers and Sue the NBA for collusion, The Lakers and Celtics have rarely ever drafted 1st overall in their entire history, The Lakers top picks (Magic and Worthy) came over via Bad/Sketchy trades in the 80’s, Kareem, Shaq, Pau and even Wilt were all traded for, Kobe was a late lottery steal/sketchy pick…
HISTORY tells us that The Lakers will likely not win the Lotto, Boston could win the Pick but have a long and storied history of trading away the Pick/Prospects that get high in the Draft, guys like Jeff Green and Al Jefferson come to mind, they have kept Smart so far but Danny Ainge was rumored to have offered him and other pieces for big guys like Cousins and Okafor
IF I had to pick a Team to win it fair and square it would be New Orleans or Orlando…If only so Philly gets #2 and is forces to pick a better fit in Ingram/Brown…
The Lakers or Celtics winning the Lottery would actualy be a black eye on the league, sparking up the RIGGED RUMORS

HitsterParticipantAs a Suns fan I’d love them to win it.
As a neutral I try to look for a deserving team or someone who hasn’t won big in the lottery in the last few years. Philly haven’t got a top 2 pick in recent years but does their tanking desrve to be rewarded I wonder?
Boston would be fun to see a really top young prospect at and see how Brad Stevens develops him.
As an outsider I’d throw in Denver, they have often overachieved on a team ethic and haven’t had a really high pick since Melo, so as a neutral if they moved up in the lottery I wouldn’t begrudge them.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantI wouldn’t mind it 1 bit if Denver landed a Top 2 pick
I want The Pelicans and Nuggets to win the #1 and 2 picks, Pels select Ben Simmons and Nuggets take Brandon Ingram
Davis and Simmons would be a scary duo in NO
Ingram and Mudiay would be dangerous on the perimeter
As A Huge 76ers fan, I don’t believe Ben is the best fit on our Roster and we already have Dario Saric coming over to provide that Point-Forward look at Sf/Pf…I do love Brandon Ingrams game but I’m weary of super thin Wings even when they’re highly skilled liked Brandon seems to be, I’m just creeping on that LAKERS pick and wouldn’t mind losing out on Ben or Brandon if we landed 3 and 4, I’m very high on the Idea of taking Dunn/Murray or Brown 3rd(Dunn reminds me of Wade, Murray reminds me of Roy, and I think Jaylen can be a Leonard/Butler type)
So the Pels get Ben, Nuggs get Brandon, 76ers land Any combo of Dunn/Murray/Brown at 3 and 4
I also would move the Miami and OKC picks in the late 1st for Buddy Hield, hell I would include a future 1st to insure I got the deal done…
My dream line up next year would include
Kris Dunn and Ish Smith at Pg
Buddy Hield and Nik Stauskas at Sg
Jaylen Brown and Robert Covington at Sf
Nerlens Noel and Dario Saric at Pf
Jahlil Okafor and Joel Embiid at C
Of course this is all a moot point right now, I say it’s a 65% chance the Lakers keep their pick…

MopgrassParticipantI really like the pairing of of Buddy Hield and Jaylen Brown. Brown can push the ball, get to the rack, knock some people over, and kick it out to Hield. They need people who can make things happen. You take Simmons if you can get him and I like Ingram slightly better than Brown, but I think Brown can make things happen on Day 1 (Ingram will take some adjustment). They could use Ingram’s shooting, but I think they need tenaciousness more.

Butter13ParticipantFor some reason, I see Ben Simmons in a uniform with bright colors. Not sure if that means the Suns, Lakers, or Pelicans, but my guess is that either the Suns or Pelicans end up with the #1 pick.

daggers818ParticipantLakers #1, Celtics (via Nets) #2. Two young up and coming teams (Celtics better positioned right now) add top picks to their rosters and have lots of trade chips and cap space coming to improve their rosters. The basketball gods are lining up again for a decade of Laker/Celtic playoff runs.

HitsterParticipantThe Prlicans are an interesting choice, not a huge market team but they have a legit superstar in Anthony Davis. The support cast assembled for him isn’t there yet so getting a really good running mate in for him might be what a lot of neutrals wouldn’t mind.
Maybe them not getting top pick but if they were at 2 or 3 then I would be quite happy for them as it could really push them on. Not just that AD had a legit running mate but also it suddenly becomes a legit option for future FA’s if you have AD and say Ingram or Brown there.

TeslaBallerParticipantThe Suns win the lottery. It’s only fitting that the Australian goes to the desert and the Valley of the sun.
2. Philly, can’t keep getting the #3 pick.
3. New Orleans, AD needs a running mate.
4. Philly via the Lakers. A Barnes or Whiteside signing will cushion the blow of losing this year pick. An they would probably rather lose the pick this year rather than in a deeper draft next year.
