I was just wondering who you guys think the Raptors will draft. I personally think we should go for Earl Clark because he seems in a few years he can be a solid piece and contributor to the Toronto Raptors. I also see Henderson going to the Raptors and Blair too. I wouldn’t mind DeRozan coming to the Raptors either. Who do you think will be the best fit for the Raptors?

I think DeRozan can bring a HUGE addition to the Raptors. In my opinion, you could eventually build your franchise around him. He is a very good player for being one year out of college.

Do you think he’ll drop that far down to #9?

I don’t think he really fits the needs in the top 8.

Yeah thats a good point also. I wouldn’t mind Tyreke Evans there either because hes a 6’6 guard who would be a perfect fit for SG/PG. I don’t think Calderon can take the Raptors to the next level.

I think they should select Tyreke Evans, But Brian Colangelo will have to decide when it comes the Raps pick who the best player available is to fit his plans for the team… It will either be between Evans, DeRozan, and Clark…

Evans will be the best fit for the team, since he has a GREAT slashing ability as well as his solid ball handling skills and ability to play the point. He will be a solid 2 guard who can play with Coach Triano’s uptempo game, and also be able to provide a supporting role at Point Guard for Calderon (since Roko and Banks haven’t proven themselves).

DeRozan is potentially one of the greatest players in the draft, and can be a All Star within the next 5 years. But the only thing holding him back is he still needs a few years to reach his best, and the Raptors will have to determine whether they can take the risk of drafting him, knowing that he will not fit the role they need right away.

and Clark is also going to be an amazing player in the league within the next 5 years. He is a great mismatch player for any team, being 6’10” and a natural SF he provides solid rebounding, passing, and a reliable scoring option. His only downfall is that he still doesn’t seem mature enough to take the responsibility of being a leader and a 2nd option scorer for team.

What ever they decide, I know that they will pick a solid player with a lot of potential, who will help the team not only this year, but in the future. As well as providing a fan favourite player who can be a partner to Chris Bosh and make him have more reason to considering resigning. Being a Raptors fan and also living in Toronto, I know how much Chris loves the city. He has a lot of respect from everyone here, and he has a lot of involvement in the city through his own merit. He realizes he has a great opportunity in Toronto to be a franchise player, he just needs a good supporting cast to consistently help lead the team, and with this year’s draft pick the Raptors organization hopes to get the right player to accent Bosh.

I think they will go with Clark or Derozen depending on how they do during the raptors individual workouts. I love tyreke, but the raptors already have a plethora of shot launching guards( none of them that are all that talented) but regardless they are still there. I think Derozen over Clark if he is still around though, ive heard that Clark and Evans have mauturity/ attitude issues to some degree and there really isnt any veteran leadership on the raptors to put that in line?.

Chad Ford today said that the raptors made a guarantee to DeRozen that if he is available at 9 they WILL pick him. And he likely will be, Griffin goes 1, Thabeet is going 2, Harden 3, Rubio 4, Hill 5, Evans has been guaranteed as well that they will pick him at 6, then likely Jennings and then Holiday, Flynn, or Curry.

Guess it was DeRozan. The best pick for us.

The deal bringing in Steve Nash to Los Angeles was legal this offseason, but would not be available to the Lakers next summer.
