NCarmean18ParticipantThere is no way that Drummond will slip to eighth. It’s highly unlikely that he want fall out of the top 5, or even 3 for that matter. I think they will draft Quincy Miller, if I had to pick between them 4 players.

WinterSoldierParticipantthey don’t have the 8th pick the season hasn’t even started.

TyroberParticipantDoubt they’ll get the 8th pick. Clippers have the pieces to land a big name and if they do then it won’t be in the lottery

2565celticsthey have a top 10 protected pick in 2012 so if clippers arent in the top 10 bottom teams we should get a lottery pick

Charlie SheenParticipantThey do get the Clippers pick its 10 and down nothing higher on that note they draft Austine Rivers duh

omphalosParticipantActually the Celtics get the lower of the Minnesota pick or the Clippers’ own pick, which overrules the top-10 protected rule as far as I’m aware. So really, we are getting a top-10 pick unless the Clippers aren’t in the bottom ten teams, which I find unlikely.
If Jones is available at 8 or if either pick is moved up through the lottery then he’s my first coach; he would thrive being mentored by KG, which might just light that spark under him, and of course, Doc is great at getting players to buy in.
Beal would be my second choice because he’s essentially a younger Ray Allen and if some of Ray’s work ethic rubs off on him then all the better.
I’m aware that KG and Ray won’t be under contract by then, but it’s possible they resign on the cheap to see what they can do for these young players and have another run at the title.

RammerTimeParticipantSo if the T-Wolves and Clippers both end up with top ten picks, the Celtics will get the lesser of the two?

2565celticsomphalos any other possibilities like drummond or trading up for a davis or barnes

omphalosParticipantDrummond is a given, but unrealistic. Davis isn’t enough of a scorer to fit with the Cs in my opinion. Barnes could work but they would have to play him at the SG position alongside Green and I don’t think he has the handles to play the 2 full-time.
I should mention Lamb here though, he’s a player who could be really special and I’d be sorely pressed to pass him up for anyone except maybe PJ3 or Drummond.

apb540ParticipantAs a Sixers fan I am so let down to learn that the Celtics had a high pick in this year’s draft. I knew that had an extra first somewhere but didn’t know when or from whom. I hope they pick who ever the biggest bust possible is. lol they have won enough.
