valentineCoach Cal has stated recently that a returning Sophomore (who is bizarely not included on the draftnet mock), blew him away in workouts.
Those who list all the 2017 drafted UK players get extra credit.
But I’m with Coach Cal on this one though, and predict statline of 15, 8 & 2.5 for the man they call ‘Ice’ Humphries….to go along with being a top 5 draft selection next year.

SubZeroParticipantAs soon as I saw your name I figured you’d say Humphries lol. I’d love for him to make that jump tho
I’m gonna go with De’Aaron Fox because of his ability to dominate both sides of the floor. Bam could kill the boards and dunk on everyone, Malik Monk can score 20 in a half, and Briscoe’s leadership and experience will most likely pay dividends, but I think Fox’s floor leading ability combined with his athleticism, shooting, and lockdown ability will make him our most important player

he_gets_bucketsParticipantI dont get why you have to relentlessly hype these Aussie guys for no reason- Humphries was functionally useless everytime he hit the floor last season, clearly struggled mightily against the skill and athletic step up. He is a 4 year player for sure, I don’t think he sees much of the floor this season either

Bankroll PJParticipantI’m gonna compare this Kentucky team to a poor man’s Wall-Cousins Kentucky team and say Fox and Bam will be the Co-MVPs. While I don’t think either player comes close to the former in talent, their roles will be similar. Fox will run the team on offense and defense with Malik Monk playing in Eric Bledsoe’s role as a combo guard. Albeit much shorter, Briscoe fills in with Darius Miller’s role as the veteran leader that can do a little of everything on the court (hopefully, that includes shooting this year). This team doesn’t have a player to compare to Patrick Patterson (wow that was stacked) but Bam will be the guy holding down the paint on both sides of the court. This team will probably dominate the SEC, but I don’t know if they’ll fit well enough to be a final four team.
P.S. The aforementioned Isaac Humphries get a special role as the Josh Harrelson on this team. Talented and productive guy, but he’ll have to wait his turn to get starter minutes for a full season and honestly that may not be until his Junior or Senior year.

SubZeroParticipantI can’t even think about that team without getting mad that we didn’t even make it to the Final 4, much less win it all. We shot 4-32 from 3 and 16-29 from FT that game and still only lost by 7. That was one of my favorite sports teams ever (definitely my favorite college basketball team ever) with the most frustrating end to a season ever

ChewyParticipantat the TV for them to stop shooting 3s and give Cousins the damn ball! I’m not even a Kentucky fan, but that team was too talented to play so stupidly. It was a frustrating game to watch.

SubZeroParticipantYes me too! John Wall’s my favorite player but he was getting eaten up by Joe Mazzulla and Bledsoe was bricking everything. Cousins was beasting but we just didn’t want to give him the ball for whatever reason

JordanC20ParticipantIt will be Bam..or at least he’ll be the most consistent player…I expect him to get 10 and 10 every game this year also a guy that not many people talk about Wenyen Gabriel I see him making quite an impact as an energy player off the bench.

losnopesosParticipantBam. Bam is a monster and word on campus he’s a class act, too. Top five pick before the season’s over.

Hype MachineLittle known fact about Ice Humphries is that in his freshman year he was 99% student, 1% athlete.
He was an Academics Honour Role student in Psychology…and was already 1 class ahead of his age group. Too busy with studies to give his life to basketball.
Thats all changed now.
Coach Cal said you wouldnt even recognise him.
When he drops those numbers I listed earlier…dont say I didnt warn you!

wonzi_bellsParticipantI really wonder how much will Malik Monk be handling the ball next season because I want to go on a limb and say him if he does since in my opinion, he has the best all-around game of the guards.
But for college purposes, Bam Adebayo will probably be their most effective and consistant player. The guy gets to be surrounded by three point guards to hand him the ball and his length is suited well enough for the college game. I’m not too high on UK prospects for next years’ draft unless Monk can definitively show he can play the point.

SubZeroParticipantWhy the doubts for Fox?

wonzi_bellsParticipantHis small frame for the most part. Don’t know how much weight he’ll add but he’s gotta really skinny lower base that doesn’t make him the most explosive guy, though he’s still one of the quickest players I’ve seen.
That makes me hesistant on him finishing well at the rim and a player who can’t finish or can’t shoot with range is at a tough starting point as a NBA player.
