d-grizzlyParticipantWe’re all big fans of lebron, carmello, wade, bosh, etc of the 2003 draft.
My favorite player in the whole league is wade. I idolize what he does on the court. if 100% healthy, he’s just as dangerous and valuable as kobe or lebron.
If the 2003 draft has changed your mind about who your favorite player of all time is, then who was your favorite player before the 2003 draft?

d-grizzlyParticipantalthough my first favorite team was sacramento with jason williams, which got me to really start watching the nba, i was a big fan of john stockton. but wade has made the game so enjoyable to me since 2003.

llperezKobe was and is my all time favorite player. I’m not sure why you would automaticly assume that most people would have changed their minds on their all time favorite due to the 2003 draft.

td8118ParticipantI love kobes game….would take him over any of the players in the 03 draft….however I’m a huge fan of the guys taken in the past 3 years….Notably Durant, Rose, Westbrook

d-grizzlyParticipanti didn’t say that it did, i said if it has changed your mind.

D HampParticipantMelo by way of Syracuse. Melo is possiby one of the top 10 basketball players of all-time. He can’t be the best because back in the day freshmen couldn’t play varsity. And because Kareem-Abdul Jabar won four titles. Maravick also put in work. Walton won alot also.
But in the modern era, Melo is the best player to ever hit a college campus. I’m rated the top player in the country, I’ll attend Syracuse with three other freshmen, win a national title, go home and declare for the draft. lol
Dhamp….the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.

llperezwas Barkley really 6-4? I’ve heard that rumor throughout his career, but he was laways listed as 6-6 in the media guides and on his cards. Plus, he didn’t really look that short down on the low box. I mean 6-4 is Oj Mayo’s height right, they didn’t look the same height at all.

llperezOther then Kobe though, my second all time favorite player was Nick Van Exel. He joined the Lakers as a second rounder who was not expected to do much. He was exciting and always wanted the big shot.

the microwaveParticipanthes listed as 6’6″ on his cards.. you are 100 % correct.. i met him once, hes really not that big.
Charles Barkley’s height is 6 ft 4.75 in (195 cm)
US Basketball Star. In 1997 he said, “I’m 6-4 3/4 [6ft 6] just sounded good coming out of college”. Someone pointed out his mugshot on SmokingGun: Charles Barkley Height Mark, another example of how mugshot angles can be deceiving and give a taller impression than in reality.
A salon article said about him: “What’s so startling about the numbers is another number: his height of 6-foot-4….In 10th grade, pudgy and merely 5-foot-10, he failed to make his high school varsity squad…A 6-inch growth spurt his senior year led to a scholarship”. Another article on Sports Illustrated said: “If they aren’t smoked out at the pre-draft camp, padded heights get exposed at USA Basketball team trials. It was in the run-up to the 1992 Olympics that the world finally learned what the cognoscenti had long suspected — that Charles Barkley was more like 6-4 5/8 than 6-6, and Magic Johnson closer to 6-7 than 6-9”
( i love how someone gave u a negative for u asking a ?)………. thats wack.

Thunder DanParticipantRare as it is, I am a Pacers fan and Jermaine O’neal and Reggie Miller were the shizz back in the day. Hate on Reggie all you want but dude would bust from anywhere and Jermaine, who the Pacers got from Portland for nothing was a beast. He would D up anyone and poke on everyone before his knees and back got to him.

blackflash234ParticipantMy favourite player before the 2003 had to be Vince Carter. When he was on the Toronto Raptors, he was tearing up the league. So many spectacular dunks he’s had in his career that just makes you go speechless.

Honourable mention for me was Jermaine O’neal. The man was a beast! Think Chris Bosh with Dwight Howard type strength and defense. WOW!

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantBefore Howard my fave player in the league was prob Mourning. I was a center growing up and Zo’s intimidating defense and intensity was contagious. Haha, I liked Mourning more than Shaq growing up and as a Magic fan my boys used to razz me hard for that. As soon as Shaq ditched Fla for Hollywood and Zo made his way to Miami I felt pretty vindicated.
