BlackMamba24ParticipantWho is the one player you absolutely are not high on and would not want to play for your team?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 9:59pm #168054

butidonthavemoneyAustin Daye.
There have been rumors that Utah likes the kid and I have also heard there might be a promise. I really hope not. Utah needs toughness and defense, not prissy-magees. We already have Ante Tomic.

pistonkidParticipantIf Detroit draft BJ Mullens that would be hilarious!! He would be the next Kwame Brown!! But if he is on another team well, that’s a completely different story I think that he would be a STAR with the Chicago Bulls.

Skys10Participantyou have a pretty good point with him going, to Chi-Town. Rose, Gordon, Kirk, Noah, Ty, n BJ sounds nice…add in a healthy Deng and a more consciencely assertive Salmons, and you have a 3-4 seed team.

butidonthavemoneyYeah, BJ Mullens learning the game from Kwame Brown in Detroit, lol.
This is a cool topic. I’m interested to see what other fans have to say.

Meditated StatesParticipantWhat is he going to do on D. He plays the 3, the guy is slow people will blow by him. We already know what will happen to him if he plays the 4 or the 5 he is scrawny, he is a liability. I would not really want my team to draft him.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/18/2009 - 11:16pm #168070
Skys10Participant1st off i’d take Daye he’s fairly versatile among the other prospects, can shoot from deep and has a frame that is manageble. Plus not too mention he went ot Gonzaga not the toughest (physically imposing) school around….
So with that said, I’d hate if the Sixers draft Psycho-T, Jordan Hill, Wayne Ellington, Casspi, Ty Lawson, Summers, Sam Young, Taj Gibson…Equally would be dissapointed in any of these picks for various reasons…
Though I’d maybe reconsider my fanship if they chose Tyler Hansbrough! Though he is a bit more athletic than given credit for, he has no legit post moves. By that I mean moves that don’t require extra steps. He won’t get the respect in the NBA he got at UNC, so he cant depend on the FT line…his shot is better than I expected, but he’s undersized in both height and weight for the PF position. So he will struggle getting that mid-range shot off and muscle-hook shot up. I hope he goes to the Knicks since they just wanna sell tickets and not win anyway. He’ll sell some seats based on his collegiate legacy.
Just hope Deron Williams doesn’t get him neither, thats just another Milsap with the defensive range, lateral ability, and athleticism.

marcusfizer21ParticipantBulls drafting a PG would be dumb… I would go ballistic if Eric Maynor gets drafted to them…I know he’s good but let his talent develop somewhere else… Ty Hansbrough to Chicago????? only at 26… 16 would be too high…tsk3

MasrockHansbrough. Actually, I don’t really want Stephen Curry or Jrue Holliday on the T-Wolves, either. Curry looks and sounds like a 16 year old. I think he will get man-handled, but I could be wrong. Holliday is like Jennings in that he’s all potential and hasn’t shown that he can turn it into production. Blame the UCLA system all you want, but I’m wary of him.

angelcalduchParticipantDan Peterson is convinced that Ricky Rubio can handle the rigours of the NBA and be successful from the get-go.
The former Italian league coach and Milan-based broadcaster also lashed out at fellow draft entrant Brandon Jennings, responding to the barb by Jennings that Rubio was nothing more than a You Tube fad.
“Ricky Rubio is not overhyped,” said Peterson, who broadcast several of Jennings’ games last season for Lottomatica Virtus Roma.
“Jennings is overhyped. He has it all backwards. He is all about trying to dominate one-on-one, all concerned with individual talent. I find it hilarious.”
Peterson did admit that Jennings’ had the physical package to succeed in the NBA, with lightning-quick pace and upside, but thought that the Roma youngster was still not NBA-ready.
Rubio, however, is primed to take over the NBA by storm.
“One of the things that happens in the NBA, everybody has a theory on what a guy can’t do. That’s all you hear. Sacramento would be very lucky to get Ricky Rubio. It would be a good place for (Rubio), the capital city of California, not too big.”
“He is just a terrific player, though he needs to improve his three-point shooting. He gets into the lane, draws fouls, has the whole package. People would love him there. He’s a winner.”
“I would throw myself in front of a bus for Ricky Rubio. But I would have a hard time having Brandon Jennings on my team. I would send him home.”
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks are rumoured to be interested in trading up in the upcoming NBA draft to snag Spanish point guard prodigy.

Da1potParticipantI would feel as if we wasted our draft pick if the Wizards draft Thabeet. We’ve already got Javale Mcgee from last year and I believe he has way more potential than Thabeet, especially offensively. I hope the pick is part of a blockbuster trade the Wizards will make to get Stoudamire or Bosh.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/19/2009 - 3:21am #168105
NJnetskiddParticipantshould not draft Stephen Curry, this is no slight on his abilities, but the teamalready has a combo guard in Randy Foye that can stroke the ball from the outside. Adding Curry would create an extremely small back court with similar skills compounding the problem it already has……lack of length. .
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/19/2009 - 3:26am #168108
anthonymorrisParticipantI don’t like Daye. I don’t think they should draft DeRozan either if they trade down. OKC needs Harden, Thabeet or Curry if they trade down.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/19/2009 - 3:39am #168111
ashleyriot19Participanti’m a nets fan and i don’t want us drafting a pg just because this draft class is full of them, we have an all-star at that position and a guy coming off the bench who can actually play. I specially would hate us drafting one of those who can’t shoot (and yes i’m talking about you brandon jennings).
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/19/2009 - 3:46am #168114
SwatLakeCityParticipantThe Jazz ned a big man down low, since Boozer (and maybe Okur) will be leaving this season. Although they also have need at backup point, but the need for a big man down low is much much bigger than the need for a PG becasue two of our starting big men might be leaving this season. So they had better not go with a PG. A player like Tyler Hansbrough would be nice for them.

gatorheelsParticipantWell I like a lot of teams….
Warriors- I don’t want them to pick Jordan Hill. He is slightly overrated, there will be better players available at the 7th pick.
Kings- Flynn…I just don’t see how u could pick Flynn ahead of Rubio, Holiday, Jennings, or Evans.
TWolves- Minnesota needs a Center but BJ Mullens would be a disaster.
Bulls- BJ Mullens…he will never be better than Noah so don’t waste the pick. Let Ben Gordon go and sign Rashad McCants.
Charlotte- I would hate to see them pick Gerald Henderson, mainly because I hate Duke.

tjc23Participantdetroit needs to draft james johnson, blair if he is still there and also Chase Budinger could be a good pick for them he is athletic and can shoot the ball and that could help detroit

jmr2121ParticipantWizards — Jordan Hill would be a good fit, because I think he would work hard and excel, but not at #5. If thabeet falls to 5, id say we take a chance, if harden drops to 5…KEEP THE PICK and Draft him!!
Quite honestly, alot of players in this draft would be a welcomed addition to the wizards, but most of them are just not worth the 5th pick. It really sucks……..and i cant believe we didnt get the 1st or 2nd pick in the draft lottery…we fell to #5.
Hopefully we have ourselves the best draft that weve had in awhile, because weve really been striking out the past couple of years. My favorite pick of the past couple of years was in the second round Dominic McGuire.. yeah its been rough

dsickich123ParticipantI am really lost at this decision…
I know 3 players who I do want and I guess everyone else is a no…
I honestly kind of like Derozan…his athleticism and sense of humor really fit in well with our team…
I like Thabeet if he plays like he did at UCONN and does not become a bust…
And I like Harden as long as he does not take away from Durant and WestbrookALL THE OTHER PLAYERS ARE A NO….
(except me and Ricky Rubio have a love.hate relationship)

specialkParticipantI really don’t want to see the Bobcats pick gerald henderson, I really feel like they would be settling. They need to hunt in free agency for that 2 guard, and look to trade the 12 pick. If trading the 12 pick involves moving felton or augustin, then they should look to pick up Maynor or mills. But If they have to keep the 12 pick go small forward with clark or johnson. But seriously no henderson, they should go t-will before henderson.

pman23ParticipantI think if they draft BJ Mullens he will be a bust. He is not NBA Ready. He did not even start in college.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/19/2009 - 12:36pm #168560
j1232eParticipantplease do not draft bj mullens. Utah drafted koasta kouvos last year, I don’t see mullens being any beter than kosta. They both have the same game anyways, kosta can score and play defence a little beter than bj though. The also have another young center in fesenko, i don’t think much of him though, and should be the third string only playing in garbage time and or injuries. So once again utah dont touch mullens, we dont need another project center.

JHong621ParticipantThis mock draft has them taking ellington, and a week ago had them taking another shooting guard. No offense to Ellington, the kid is a great player, and is gonna b good somewhere else, but we have Joe Johnson, and I (maybe not others) believe flip murray is a good back up. Please dont take Ellington. I say Jrue Holiday or Teague (IF they fall) or Lawson or Maynor(should be there).
