Some of you know that I just proposed probably the worst trade on this site. Sorry for that. I don’t know what I was thinking, but a better trade would be Raja Bell to the Wolves for Jonny Flynn, but I have one quick question before I change my mock draft. Who is better Johnny Flynn back in his Syracuse days and his rookie year or Brandon Knight?

I did not watch too much college ball in 2009 so I have no idea how good he really was. I knew he had that like 55 point game in the tourney of 2009 and that game went into like 5 overtimes but that’s all I knew about him and his college days. So that’s why I am asking the question.

Unless Minny gets a pick in the deal as well, why would we trade Flynn for a guy 10 year vet who will be out of the league by the time we are competing for a title?  I understand we need vets, but unless a pick is involved, you dont’ move a 2 year removed top 10 pick for Raja Bell.

Maybe the Jazz’s own 2012 pick which if they don’t waste their two picks this year would be probably be in the twenties could be traded along with Bell

So the trade would be Bell and Jazz 2012 pick (top 14 protected) for Jonny Flynn.

Brandon Jennings scored 55 points vs the Golden State Warriors, not Jonny Flynn in college.

Jonny Flynn’s career high was 35 vs Providence and it wasn’t in the 6 OT game which was vs UConn.

You really don’t know anything about college ball at all do you?

@TOL23, Not much. I know a lot more this year then I ever have. But that has mostly come from this forum. (for that I thank you guys) Sorry for the mistake but I think its excusable considering that I did mention that back in 2009 I did not watch college ball too much.

I’m actually really high on Brandon Knight, the kid has an aura of confidence about him that is encouraging. He just plays like a winner, even if he doesn’t have the raw physical tools of his predecessor in Wall, he might end up more successful as a leader in the NBA (he’s already done better in college, with a lot less talent).

    I agree omphalos,

I also am very high on Knight and don’t think the disparity between him and Irving is as great as others do.  Id much rather have Knight @ like 14 then spending the first overall on Kryie who I am not convinced is as great as some make him out to be.  I think he will be a very good starting PG, but saying he is the next Chris Paul is a little extreme for my taste.  I think Brandon will continue to develop.  I look at him as the Jrue Holiday of this class.

The Timberwolves offered Jonny Flynn to the Jazz at the deadline for Raja Bell. Utah turned them down.

As a Jazz fan, I wouldn’t trade Bell for Flynn.

Flynn was great at getting to the line when he started. I thought he was going to be better than he is turning out to be.

yeah I agree. I thought of this as a possibility but I quickly decided that Knight is definitely better than any version of Flynn. Taller, more clutch, better passer (still not great passer but better than Flynn.) But the Jazz probably should not even trade Bell to the Wolves or the Sixers for that matter. But this trade might work better: Raja Bell to the Bucks for Chris Douglas Roberts. He was a 2nd round pick of the ’08 draft and thats probably the best that the Jazz could get for Bell. The Bucks did make the playoffs last year, and I’m sure they would like to make it back soon. Bell is veteran who could definitely do that. The Jazz could definitely use a younger player as they are trying to rebuild and Roberts would definitely provide as a nice versatile backup to CJ Miles. He’s not gonna be the long term answer and nor is CJ Miles but he can be the short term answer until the Jazz are able to make it back to the playoffs.

Is this a better trade: Raja Bell to the Bucks for Chris Douglas Roberts?

I mean why keep posting this about this man. Learn from me when your post gets crashed by TOL23 leave it alone go back 2 the drawing board. Just joking but remember Kobe said RBell needed a Hug a few years ago. RBell will provide good locker room presence, but this was a bad FA pickup by the Jazz. & i think the Lakers were Looking @ Bell but he went to Utah.

Knight is already better in his freshman season than Flynn was at the time he was drafted. Altough I do think this season has been a somewhat unfair evaluation on Flynn as a player due to his injury, I still like Knight better if you are comparing them as prospects. Flynn still has a lot of potential though, but he might be stuck on the bench if Rubio comes over……

Why would anyone want 34 year old Raja Bell who is guaranteed for the next 2 years?  I mean maybe a contendor who realllllly needs a vet at SG (i’m looking at you Chicago.)
