 Looking at the 2016 Mock on here, I saw Damian Jones a Junior from Vanderbilt. I don’t follow NCAA much, so could someone give me information on this… Is he really a lottery pick?

 This site often puts an upperclassmen or two that other sites aren’t high on in the lottery in the first few editions of the mock, last year/this year it was Norman Powell being projected as a top 5 pick. He’s a good player but I don’t think he’s a lottery talent from what he has shown so far

Not long ago they had some guy named Brice Johnson in the top 5 for the 2014 or 2015 draft. I can’t remember which.

 His physical talent says that he’s a lotto pick but IDK about about having him as high as this site has him.  He was very raw coming out of HS and has gradually improved under a good coach.  He runs the floor well, is a powerful leaper, violent dunker. He’s actually grown a couple of inches while in college.  Has a naturally strong body and is NBA C size now. Skill wise he’s got the basic moves, drops steps and jump hooks over either shoulder with soft touch.  His shot has good form but his release is inconsistent.  Defensively he’s a mixed bag.  Again, he has the tools but his recognition isn’t particularly quick, which extends to his rebounding too.  He can get there but he doesn’t pick up the carom quick enough.  Goes for swats instead of straight up contests too.

If he declared last year I would’ve had him somewhere in the mid to late teens.  If he makes a similar improvement that he made from his frosh to his soph year I’d have him somewhere in the late lotto.  His game reminds me a bit of like a mix b/t Derrick Favors and Chris Wilcox.

 Thanks for the information. I was on draftexpress and they have him at 14, I also watched him vs Bobby Portis last year, and he got man handled. He looks skinny to me, and he doesn’t use his size very wall. His motor is very inconsistent too and that’s why I think his defense lacks.
