Well the Timberwolves already has one of the most dominant up and coming big man in the NBA as of right now with Al Jefferson. Even though he tore his ACL I still believe he will keep getting better as years to come. Al Jefferson is a superstar, but the ‘Wolves have no surrounding talent, just like when KG was there. They gave up OJ Mayo for another low post player in Kevin Love and Mike Miller. I disagree with the trade, but they did give up two gigantic contracts with Marco Jeric and some other scrub. But, besides they gave up a great perimeter player in OJ, now they have Randy Foye and Mike Miller running the show in Minnesota: That is a f&%#*& joke. period. Well I am hoping that the Timberwolves can some how manage to get James Harden, he is a perfect fit for the squad, him and Al would be unbelievable together. With a great scorer on the outside that will just open things up for Al and the big man will do even more work. Well I want to know some of your thoughts on what the T’Wolves need.

Foye isnt a point guard and telfair isnt a starter. They should try 2 grab either jeff teague or jonny flynn, even though flynn could be a reach, they would be the best choices. Or they could go with a harden (an all around talent) or thabeet (a much needed post defender.)

i agree with Teagues and maybe Thabeet, but I dont think another low post presence is that much of a necessity.

BigBadBoogie… How Is A Player Who Averages Over 16 points, Nearly 5 Assists, Over 3 Rebounds And More Than A Steal A Game A Joke? It’s His 3rd Year In The League And His 2nd Year Was Hampered By Injuries. Also, Now That Big Al Is Out For The Remainder Of The Season, Foye Is Going To Be The Team’s MAIN Scoring Option.. Unless Kevin Love Loses Some Weight And Grows 3 Inches…

You call this stat line worthy for carrying a whole team on your back-
      4.7 assists 2.3 TOs 1.1 stls 0.4 blocks 16.2 points
no that is not a good stat line, you can not even dare say Randy Foye is capable of being the guy taking the big shots for any team in the NBA maybe a Euro league team. I still do like how he plays but he could be a nice back up point guard in the league if anything

But About The Topic At Hand… I Am Unsure Who Will Be A Good Fit For ‘Sota. I Like Thabeet, But Then What Becomes Of Kevin Love? Do We Bring Him Off The Bench? If That’s The Case, Minnesota Wasn’t Smart For Trading Oj Mayo. Just Think What Their Lineup COULD HAVE Looked Like… OJ/Foye/Gomes/Big Al/Thabeet. Now, This Is What Their Lineup Could STILL Look Like, Pending Who They Decide To Draft…

    1.Jennings/Foye/Gomes/Love/Big Al
    2.Foye/Harden/Gomes/Love/Big Al
    3.Telfair/Foye/Gomes/Big Al/Thabeet.

These Are A Few Of The Lineups That Could Happen, But Who Knows What Their Management Will Do Next..

*I’m Kind Of Counting On The Wolves To Trade Mike Miller Before The Deadline, So That’s Why I Haven’t Included Him In This Post At All.

O.J. Mayo is a nice scorer and defender, but I think they should have taken Brooke Lopez. That man is a 7 Foot monster! He would also allow Jefferson to play his natural position at PF, so he stops getting dominated by real Centers. Consider that…

      C – Lopez, PF – Jefferson, SF – Gomes, SG – Foye, PG – Harden/Jennings….

Now that would be a lethal young team!

When Did ANYONE Say Foye Had To Carry A Whole Team On His Back? Isn’t That What Al Jefferson Does?

I agree with your new line ups for the Twolves, yeah obviously K.Loves a piece of shit, he needs to stick to HORSE games at the local YMCA. But, maybe we would get a nice deal for Mike Miller, make some more cap room and maybe squeak out a scorer if McHale plays his cards right. Maybe Miller and Love for Amare straight up haha. That lineup would be nasty Foye, Harden, Gomes, Amare, and Big Al. Thats a championship worthy squad right there!

But, Back to the topic who should we draft I think we have 4 picks this year, 3 in the first round. We could make some moves with all those picks, I say we get Harden, then Damian James if he slips, and then Sam Young for the first round

I Like The Harden Pick. He Could Be A Good Fit For The Wolves. But Later In The Round I Think That They Should Try And Get A Good Point Gaurd Like Flynn. For Their Pick That Will Be At Or Near The End Of The 1st Round… Take A Shot On A Big Guy. The Wolves Have Practically No Quality Bigs On Their Bench, So A Guy Like Pendergraph Or Jerome Jordan Could Be A Nice Pick To Make.

do not pay attention to anything jorrye says on this site, he is partially responsible for ruining both the nbadraft.net forum and hoops daily forum with his idiocy. him and tuck need to spend more time planning the decorations for the 8th grade dance this weekend, and less time commenting on basketball which they know nothing about.

Hmmm, Should the Twolves take a floor leader in B Jennings or a All Around Scorer in James Harden, B Jennings is high risk you could be getting another Bassy without the movie or an explosive point guard who can take just about anyone off the dribble. In Harden I feel he will make an immediate impact with his Manu type game.

James Harden no question…they’re not an up-tempo team and they need another perimeter player so he is the perfect fit for them…he can handle the ball, shoot, pass, and get to the rack, and is a very good defender…pair him with Foye and have Jefferson and Love whenever he develops and you have 1 of the most talented and complete young core’s in the NBA!!!

With 3 picks in the 1st round, the Wolves should look to nab a point with their 1st. Not a combo point however, but a “pass first point”. Why, because Foye is a combo, who is more comfortable setting up his own shots, rather than dishing assists to guys like big AL. That is why,, Brandon Jennings should be the player the Wolves will seriously consider with their 1st pick, as he is, a “pass first point”.

I think because they have so many picks in the draft, they can afford to adress multiple needs depending on who the best players available are. To me, the backcourt is a much bigger problem than the frontcourt. They’re gonna have to decide if they want to keep Foye at the point or let him play off the ball, or keep him there and continue to develop his PG skills. If they’re in a position to get Jennings, they have to pull the trigger. However, should they let Foye stay at PG and then move Miller back to SG, then SF is a concern. To me, Rodney Carney and Corey Brewer just don’t cut it as starters. There’s gonna be plenty of SFs in the draft this year, so if they don’t take one in the lottery, there’s plenty in the mid-first round area.

Since When Does Al Jefferson Get Dominated? I Don’t Know What Al You Are Watching, But It’s Not Jefferson. That’s For Sure.

if they have a chance at him there is no question they should get harden
but if they get unlucky they should assume jefferson is going to come back as good as he was becuz if he is not that franchise could be screwed for a long time
if they get number 1 its griffin time
since they have 3 first round picks they should try to get derozan as the 29th pick becuz lets face it james johnson may be able to beat any body up but he will NOT be a great nba player
however his counter partner jeff teague will be a beast
and if derozan should slip(which is very possible if u look how unnoticed he is) than they could try to get him with 18.
jennings would not be too bad and earl clark would end up doin some work becuase every nba team would put weight on him and he would develop a better jumper which would turn him into a pretty fine player.
there main priority is a point guard so u could go with the obvious brandon jennings or you could go with steph curry or jeff teague however a very VERY good pooint guard is supposedly slipping until the mid second round so they should go with shooting guard/small forward and even a nice running mate with big al- they should get AJ PRICE
he is the MOST underrated player in college basketballl right now
he is playing on a team with the most overrated (Thabeet) and Adrien is not an nba prospect
besides kemba walker who has 0 jump shot and jerome dyson who is injured he is the best guard by FAR and Away on that team–another player who slipped is terrence williams
and even though he has inconsistancy with his jumpers he could be a pretty good player bc he can pass handle and rebound
it is very apparent that the twolves really need any type of guard that they can find becuz randy foye will not cut it for there starting pg if they expect to win championships or even make the playoffs in the highly competitive western conference

When Chauncey Billups was 25 (Foye’s current age), his stats were comparable if not worse than Randy Foye’s are now. While it’s true Randy is more comfortable off the ball right now, he does handle the ball pretty well and he averages 5 assists, which is about what Chauncey averaged at that age. If Foye had a dependable shooting guard playing next to him, he would be more than adequate as a point guard given another year or two of seasoning.

Finally Someone Who Understands That It Takes Time For A Shooting Guard To Develop PG Skills. I Still Think That The Billups//Foye Comparison Is Still In Reach.

yeah thats a great comparison buddy because chauncey is a shooter and foye is a slasher
    great job really great
when everyone on the twolves is healthy who do u think takes the shot—-obviously big al
now when the nuggets need one who do u think,, chauncey
he needs to work on his shot and ball handling
he averages more turnovers than chauncey
he is a 2 guard in a 1 guards body and he will never be as good as chauncey
they should get it over with and draft a goood point guard instead of stickin with foye
lets think about it, if they had a good point guard like chauncey and jefferson was healthy they would be in the hunt for a playoff spot
but now with foye they are not
we will see in a couple of years if foye is that good but if foye is going to play rthe pooint guard than they need a real scorer like james harden or jeff teague
that will make them a better team with a real scorer or a real point guard

I think I might take back what I saw about Randy, he keeps looking better and better. Last night he dropped 23, he is diffinatly a shoot first pass second guard, mike miller led the squad last night with assists, thats bad. We have Bassy running the show at point and he is not fit to do that. No we should not get blake Griffin, great another semi-undersized power forward, We already got Al and he’s going to be just as good or better when he comes back from his ACL injury. Ashapps are you kidding me? Brook Lopez?!?!??!?! why would we need an un-athletic center to clog things up in the lane when Al is trying to go to work, yeah that was a dumb idea. We gave up OJ, Mchale is still waking up in cold sweats about that trade. I dont want to see the TWolves to get any big man with their first pick besides Thabeet, that kid is a monster and he has barely scratched the surface of his potential. I agree we need Harden but if hes gone before we get a pick I agree we pull the trigger on BJennings.

Trade Deadlines coming up; I saw we deal Mike Miller and KLove and a 1st round draft pick for Amare. I know it seems very unlikely. but if it did happen. Can you say TWolves making playoffs in 2010??? Foye/Harden/Gomes/Amare/ Big Al. That is a solid line up.

I agree with the one post that said we should’ve taken Lopez with that pick last year. I even called the local sports radio station to view my opion. I was ridiculed in good humor but I’m standing by my choice. As far as who we should take in this years draft, it all depends on what pick we get. I would love to get a 6’5 or taller shooting gaurd. But if we can get the 1st pick then I think I want B Griff. I also like with our other picks to go for T. Smith from Tennessee. Jodie Meeks have been balling too. But we have to watch march Madness to see what developes. Remember Michael Beasley was the number 1 pick up into the final four when Derick Rose showed his true talent.
